Real Madrid News: Thibaut Courtois now No1 target with David De Gea set for Man Utd stay

REAL MADRID are ready to turn their attentions to Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, reports say.

Real Madrid have been regularly linked with a move for Manchester United’s David De Gea, despite failing to sign the Spain international two years ago.

However, Manchester United always insist he is not for sale and are determined to retain their star asset at all costs.

And Spanish outlet Diario Gol claims Real are aware of how difficult signing the 26-year-old will be.

It is said club president Florentino Perez still wants to make De Gea his marquee arrival of next summer.

But the chances of that at the current time seem slim, particularly given the fact the Red Devils are under no financial obligation to sell.

And Diario Gol say Perez is now considering younger options.

Among them is Chelsea’s Courtois, who has helped the Blues win the Premier League title in two of the last three years.

The Belgian’s agent, speaking back in June, confirmed he regularly talked with Real about the Chelsea star.

"Obviously the biggest clubs are interested in Thibaut, and that includes the reigning European champions,” he said.

"He is a goalkeeper who wins you games, wins you trophies.

"I meet regularly with Real Madrid's directors and Thibaut's situation is evaluated. My role is to keep him informed of the situation."

Additionally, Real could move for Jan Oblak or Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Oblak currently plies his trade over at Atletico Madrid and was wanted by PSG over the summer.

Donnarumma, meanwhile, was tipped to sign this summer but ultimately decided to sign a new contract with AC Milan.
