Chelsea news: Antonio Conte reveals extent of Pedro injury from Arsenal draw

ANTONIO CONTE hopes Pedro’s injury isn’t too serious.

Arsene Wenger: We were close to winning against Chelsea

Pedro needed treatment after a challenge with Nacho Monreal during the first half of Chelsea’s 0-0 draw with Arsenal yesterday.

He soldiered on until half-time but was substituted off in place of Tiemoue Bakayoko at the restart.

The former Barcelona star has started all but two of Chelsea’s six games so far this season and scored his first goal of the season in the 6-0 thrashing of Qarabag in the Champions League last week.

But he could be set to miss out on Chelsea’s match against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.

We have to check with the doctor, but I hope this problem is not serious

Pedro will report to the club doctor this week but Antonio Conte is hopeful the injury isn’t a serious one.

“After the first half Pedro was a bit injured because he had a kick on his ankle and then I change it, tried to have more balance in the midfield,” Conte said.

“Pedro took a knock to his ankle and wasn’t 100 per cent fit.
