CHELSEA defender David Luiz wet himself in the red-card challenge with Sead Kolasinac on Sunday, Ray Wilkins has joked.

Chelsea were reduced to 10 men when David Luiz lunged in on Sead Kolasinac in the 0-0 draw with Arsenal on Sunday.

The Brazil international was shown a straight red card by referee Michael Oliver on 87 minutes as he went in recklessly on the Gunners’ full-back.

And Ray Wilkins thinks Luiz did so because he was scared of the physicality of Kolasinac, joking he “wet himself”.

“It was an atrocious tackle,” Wilkins told talkSPORT.

Arsenal's new signing Sead Kolasinac reveals all in first interview

“He either wants to hurt Kolasinac, or he’s afraid. I’ll go for the latter.

“He saw him coming towards him and thought, ‘wow, this fella is a giant’ and he basically wet himself.

“Kolasinac went to the floor, his boots never came off the ground, he just went for the ball.

“If Luiz had done that there would have been nothing wrong. It’s on the halfway line for goodness sake.”

After the match Antonio Conte refused to comment on Luiz’s sending off but bemoaned his side’s disciplinary record this season.

"I don't like to comment about the referee," Conte said.

"We have great respect for officials, but it is strange to finish a third game in a row against Arsenal with 10 men."
