Man Utd news: Jose Mourinho’s side are much worse without Paul Pogba - Shaka Hislop

MANCHESTER UNITED missed Paul Pogba despite beating Everton 4-0 at Old Trafford yesterday.

Daley Blind is sad that Paul Pogba is injured

That is the opinion of pundit and former West Ham and Portsmouth goalkeeper Shaka Hislop.

Pogba injured his hamstring in the first half of Manchester United’s 3-0 Champions League win over Basel last Tuesday.

Reports have claimed the Frenchman could be out for up to three months with the issue.

Pogba had started the season strongly for United, scoring twice in the first five Premier League games of the campaign.

They were nowhere near as impressive as they had been without Paul Pogba

The visit of Everton was the first game he missed and Hislop says Jose Mourinho’s side put in a performance well below the standards they have set so far this term.

“They were nowhere near as impressive as they had been without Paul Pogba,” Hislop said on ESPN FC.

“It speaks of Pogba’s quality in midfield, his dynamism in midfield, his passing range sitting in front of that back four as well and how much of a spark sitting in front of that back four he is.

“(Marouane) Fellaini comes in, does a good job, as he always does.

“But Manchester United just didn’t have that same invincible look that we have become used to.

“I think the scoreline flattered them somewhat.”

United scored their last three goals in the final seven minutes of the game.

Everton had a number of chances at 1-0 to get back into the match.

United are back in action on Wednesday in the Carabao Cup against Burton Albion (8pm).
