Liverpool news: Leicester winning in Carabao Cup tie would NOT be an upset - Nicholas

LIVERPOOL losing to Leicester tonight would NOT be a huge upset, according to Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas.

Klopp 'not happy' about 1-1 draw with Burnley

Liverpool have gone three matches in all competitions without a win with Jurgen Klopp facing heavy criticism for his defensive tactics.

The Liverpool boss looked to freshen things up in Saturday’s match against Burnley by making a number of changes, including handing Philippe Coutinho a first start of the season.

And Klopp is expected to make several changes once more for tonight’s Carabao Cup tie away at Leicester with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain set to be given a first start since his summer move from Arsenal while Danny Ward will start in goal.

Teenage sensation Ben Woodburn is also set to feature for the first time this season while Klopp is likely to hand other youngsters a chance.

Other than Liverpool's reputation, I really don't see this as an upset

And it is for this reason that former Celtic and Arsenal star Nicholas believes it won’t be a shock if Leicester beat Klopp’s side.

“When I was looking at my Super 6 selections, this is the one that stood out at me as a potential upset,” Nicholas told Sky Sports.

“Leicester have had a tough start but have been playing well and Jamie Vardy should have scored a winner at Huddersfield, but he missed a sitter.

“I covered Liverpool at the weekend and I was baffled by Jurgen Klopp's seven changes.

“They looked defensively vulnerable again and could have lost the game when Ben Mee went agonisingly close in the dying stages.

“Other than Liverpool's reputation, I really don't see this as an upset, especially as I'm inclined to think they will make another six or seven changes, with Ben Woodburn and the other young guys coming in.

“This is a good time for Kelechi Iheanacho to come good. He's in danger of being the next Saido Berahino in terms of just going through the motions and needs to seize his chance in games like this.”
