Arsenal news: Jack Wilshere wants West Ham move in January to end Emirates nightmare

JACK WILSHERE has given up hope of resurrecting his Arsenal career and wants to move to his boyhood club West Ham, according to reports.

Adrian Clarke: Wilshere criticism is unfair

Wilshere made his first appearance of the season in last week’s 3-1 Champions League win over Cologne, coming on as a second half substitute.

But he wasn’t included in the match day squad to face Chelsea on Sunday, with Ainsley Maitland-Niles preferred as an option from the bench.

The 25-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and his future at the Emirates looks likely to be coming to an end.

He spent last season on loan at Bournemouth where he impressed in spells for Eddie Howe’s side but the injury-prone midfielder was once again forced out of action with a hairline fracture in his leg towards the end of the campaign.

He was expected to be shipped out of Arsenal during the summer, but clubs were unable to meet the £20million asking price.

West Ham were said to be one of the clubs interested in his signature during the transfer window.

But they could reignite their interest in Wilshere with the Daily Star claiming he is considering a move to the Olympic Stadium.

It is said the Gunners are yet to open negotiations with Wilshere over a new contract.

And not being included in the match against Chelsea has reportedly sent a clear message to Wilshere that his future lies away from Arsenal.
