Chelsea made light work of their third round tie against Forest this evening with Michy Batshuayi grabbing a hat-trick and Kenedy also getting on the scoresheet.

But it was Musonda who stole the show with his electric display and topped off his performance with a goal just before half-time.

The 20-year-old has been at Chelsea since 2012 after joining from Anderlecht.

Antonio Conte entrusted the winger with his full debut for the Blues tonight and Musonda admits he was overcome with emotion after scoring the third goal of the evening.

“It was an emotional moment, I can’t even remember it,” Musonda said.

“I was very happy and you can see that.

“I was in tears to be honest. If the lads didn’t come and get me I don’t know what would have happened.

“The fans were great today. They gave me a big lift tonight and they were amazing.”

And Conte admits he was delighted with Musonda’s performance, and hinted at more opportunities in the future.

“Charly played very well,” Conte said.

“He is working a lot to improve his physicality and we are working with him to be ready.”
