MANCHESTER UNITED boss Jose Mourinho has reportedly demanded Paul Pogba take a ten-day holiday before his rehab for a hamstring injury.

Pogba was criticised last season but has impressed for Manchester United in the early embers of the new campaign, scoring twice.

However, the France international is set for a spell on the sidelines after sustaining a hamstring injury in the Red Devils’ 3-0 Champions League win over Basel last week.

Initially, reports claimed that Pogba would miss around 12 weeks but Mourinho has acted swiftly to allay those fears.

And The Sun say the Manchester United manager has ordered his star performer to take a holiday before stepping up his recovery.

It is said the boss and his staff want Pogba to ensure he is fully rested and primed to return.

An Old Trafford source is quoted as saying: “Paul is being given some time off before he steps up his rehab from a hamstring injury.

“He has another scan soon, but the injury has to settle down first and then a full assessment can be made.

“He will be allowed to head off on holiday during the international break and then return for a comeback to action."

The Sun also say Mourinho is angry at Pogba for ignoring advice over his hamstring, which has caused him problems in the past.

However, United seem to be coping just fine without him.

Pogba went off against Basel with the score at 0-0 before Marouane Fellaini, Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford found the net.

And the Red Devils’ ruthless strikeforce has since seen them hit four goals past Everton and Burnley in the Premier League and Carabao Cup respectively.
