Man Utd news: Marcus Rashford may leave to get first-team assurances - Micky Quinn

MANCHESTER UNITED star Marcus Rashford may have to leave Old Trafford to become a first-choice striker, according to pundit Micky Quinn.

Rashford has starred for Manchester United this season, scoring five goals in his last five appearances in all competitions.

The England international netted twice in the 4-1 Carabao Cup win over Burton Albion last night.

With Romelu Lukaku rested, Rashford was utilised by Jose Mourinho as the main centre-forward.

However, Quinn doubts whether he will get a regular chance in that position while at United.

He might nail down a central role, but will it be with Manchester United or will it be with another club?

“It’s going to be tough, with Lukaku knocking in goals left, right and centre,” Quinn said on talkSPORT of Marcus Rashford being a regular at United.

“You’ve got Zlatan (Ibrahimovic) coming back as well, so where’s he going to fit in?

“Is he going to play wide? But I think that’s his position, centrally.

“I think he’s still a baby and I think he’s still learning.

“But I know what you mean, that ruthlessness in front of goal, that eye of the tiger, Lukaku-like scoring 20 Premier League goals every season.

“I think he could do if he played up the middle.

"I think he’s got the ability, two good goals as well last night.

“Maybe a work in progress and in two seasons he might nail down a central role, but will it be with Manchester United or will it be with another club?”
