Jesse Lingard reveals he wants Antoine Griezmann at Man United

That is according to Spanish football expert Guillem Balague.

Griezmann looked set to join Manchester United during the transfer window in a deal worth around £88million.

But the French ace surprisingly turned down a move to Old Trafford and decided to stay at Atletico, extending his contract until June 2022.

But his release clause remains around £88m which will not put off potential suitors.

United are likely to be among a host of top clubs interested in signing Griezmann in 2018.

And Balague says Griezmann will look to leave next year and expects Europe’s elite sides to be keen.

He said: "In the summer, I think we are all aware he will try to leave.

"But do you really think United would be the only team that will want him?"

When asked about his decision to stay with Atletico, Griezmann himself admitted he isn't sure what the future holds beyond this season.

Antoine Griezmann remains a player of interest to Manchester United

"To be honest, I don’t know. I’m going to be here next season, after that we’ll see," he told FourFourTwo.

“It’s absurd to talk about something more than a year away.

“I stayed mainly because of the ban. Atletico need me more than ever. It would be dirty to leave.

“I wouldn’t have been myself or the person that I feel I am today, if I had left the club in that way."
