The Catalan giants had three bids rejected by Liverpool, who insisted that the Brazilian would not be sold at any price.

It has emerged that Reds sporting director Michael Edwards sent an email saying:

“I ask you amicably to stop harassing Coutinho publicly and privately.

"No amount of money will change our minds.”

The emails also show agent Kia Joorabchian stood to make £9million if the deal went through and Barca paid less than £100m.

Coutinho joined Liverpool in 2013 and his impressive appearances earned him the nickname of 'The Little Magician'.

He has so far made 185 appearances and scored 43 goals for the Reds.
