Chelsea news: Charly Musonda to be offered new contract amid Arsenal and Man Utd interest

CHARLY MUSONDA is reportedly set to be offered a new contract at Chelsea to fend off interest from Arsenal and Manchester United.

Carabao Cup: Charly Musonda scores impressive goal for Chelsea

Musonda impressed on his first start for Chelsea last week against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup, marking his full debut with a goal.

And his performances are said to have attracted the interest of some of Chelsea’s biggest Premier League rivals.

His current contract runs out in 2019 but the London Evening Standard claim Chelsea are keen to secure his long-term future.

The Belgium under-21 international joined the Blues in 2012 and graduated from the academy three years later when he turned 18.

He spent 2016 out on loan in La Liga with Real Betis but his spell in Spain was cut short after suffering injury problems.

A number of young Chelsea players were sent out on loan in the summer, but Conte opted to keep Musonda at Stamford Bridge and has been involved in several Premier League squads this season, including a debut appearance in the defeat to Burnley.

And the Standard claim Conte has held positive discussions with Musonda regarding his future role at the club.

Musonda, speaking after Chelsea’s win over Nottingham Forest, admitted he was in tears after scoring.
