Chelsea have hit their stride in recent weeks and enjoyed a last gasp 2-1 win away to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League in midweek.

City meanwhile, recorded a 2-0 win over Shakhtar Donetsk.

Pep Guardiola’s men have set the pace in the Premier League, winning five of their six games and hitting 21 goals.

But Merson can only see it being a draw at Stamford Bridge tomorrow (5.30pm).

“I cannot separate these two sides so I'm going for a 1-1 draw,” Merson told Sky Sports.

“It should be a great game. Chelsea's win over Atletico Madrid on Wednesday was one of the best performances I've seen away from home in Europe for a long time.

“This is another big game for Chelsea though.

“We expect United to win at home to Palace and that would mean Chelsea would be six points behind them before kick-off at Stamford Bridge.
