Kevin de Bruyne takes swipe at Chelsea: Leaving Stamford Bridge made me stronger

KEVIN DE BRUYNE says leaving Chelsea made him a stronger player after scoring the winner for Manchester City at Stamford Bridge.

De Bruyne left Chelsea in 2014 after growing frustrated at a lack of opportunities.

But he has since gone from strength to strength and the Belgian showed his old club how good he now is with an excellent individual display and goal to beat the Premier League champions.

And when asked if the win was sweeter because he is an ex-Chelsea player, De Bruyne said: "What happened happened and I have no regrets coming here. It made me stronger. I made a decision at the time, Chelsea made a profit on me. I am happy with my new team City and I am happy with my team-mates."
