Pogba has been out of action since hobbling off in the Champions League clash against Basel last month.

And it has recently been reported that the France international could face a further six weeks on the sidelines with his hamstring injury.

He started the season in excellent form, scoring twice in United’s opening four Premier League games as well as picking up a couple of assists.

But in his absence, the Red Devils have won five games in all competitions, scoring 17 goals in the process with Marouane Fellaini benefiting from Pogba’s injury with a more prominent role in the starting line-up.

The Belgium international scored twice in the 4-0 win over Crystal Palace at the weekend and Jose Mourinho hailed the midfielder after the game for his ’strong character’.

Pogba’s injury was expected to be a huge blow for United and it still could be, with tough matches against Liverpool and Tottenham to come this month as well as two Champions League match against Benfica.

But Mourinho insists he never worries about the players on the injury table, only the ones he is able to select.

"We never miss the players that are injured," Mourinho said.

"That is our way of thinking. They are injured, we don't think about them.

"It is an opportunity and a moment for others to step up and get the chance, so I think that is good.

"When we moan all the time about injuries it looks like we don't trust the other people and we have to."
