While Ben Gibson attracted plenty of interest from some of England’s top clubs in the summer, it is his defensive partner that is starting to get noticed.

Fry’s recent performances for Middlesbrough have led to him earning a call-up to Aidy Bothroyd’s latest England under-21 squad.

He was also part of the England set-up that lifted the Under-20 World Cup during the summer.

And it is being reported that some of the Premier League’s elite clubs are showing an interest in the 20-year-old.

TEAMtalk claim both United and Chelsea have been particularly impressed with his solid defensive work this season.

Fry has played in nine of Middlesbrough’s 11 Championship games this season as well as both of their Carabao Cup games.

And Garry Monk’s side have kept seven clean sheets so far with Fry in the starting line-up, conceding in just four matches.

Middlesbrough currently sit 11th in the table, four points adrift of the play-off places.

Fry has been with Middlesbrough since the age of seven and made his competitive debut on the opening day of the 2015/16 season.

He is currently with the England under-21 squad ahead of their European qualifiers against Scotland and Lithuania.
