Man Utd news: Romelu Lukaku injury update delivered by Belgium

ROMELU LUKAKU will miss Belgium's penultimate World Cup game against Bosnia-Herzegovina on Saturday.

The Manchester United striker is currently on international duty with Belgium, but has not been able to train with the team due to an ankle injury.

It was feared Lukaku, who sustained the injury during a Manchester United training session, would be sidelined for some time. 

But tests revealed there were no fractures as he flew to Brussels to join up with his international team-mates. 

Roberto Martinez has already cast doubt on his availability, with Belgium already assured of their World Cup place in Russia next summer.

But the Belgium FA have now confirmed he will be playing no part in the game against Bosnia-Herzegovina. 

It has also been outlined that the 24-year-old has not travelled as part of the squad to Sarajevo. 

However, he could return to face Cyprus in their final match of Group H next week.

This will come as a huge boost for , who do not want their top-scorer to be risked ahead of their Premier League clash with Liverpool on October 14. 

Lukaku has got his United career off to a flyer since signing from Everton in a deal that could rise to as high as £90million this summer. 

The striker has scored 10 goals in just nine games for the Red Devils, with his latest strike coming in the 4-0 win over Crystal Palace last week.
