Darmian confession

21:10: Matteo Darmian insists he is ready to battle for his place at Manchester United - but hasn’t ruled out a return to Italy.

"I don't regret the decision I took (in joining United),” Darmian said.

“I would make the same decision over and over again.

"Obviously like every footballer I would like to be playing as much as possible.

“But I am working hard, putting in the effort and trying to make the manager's decisions difficult, and I'll continue to do that.

"I won't deny that I always watch Italian football and I don't know what will happen in the future.

“If there is an opportunity to return, then I'll make the necessary evaluations."

De Gea is best in the world - Darmian

19.40: David De Gea is the best goalkeeper in the world.

That’s the view of his Manchester United team-mate Matteo Darmian, who also praised him for a stunning save against Stoke.

"I know David very well and I think, at this moment, he is the best goalkeeper in the world," the defender told ManUtd.com.

"He is very important for us and I think that save at Stoke [from Jese Rodriguez) was incredible.”

Harrison does not regret United exit

18:49: Jack Harrison, 20, admits he has no regrets about leaving Manchester United as a 14-year-old.

“My mum [Debbie] came up with the idea of me going to boarding school in America to improve my education while I played football,” Harrison told The Telegraph.

“I was really apprehensive at first and didn’t want to leave because everyone in that system is just tunnel-visioned and just think about making it to the first time and a lot of players don’t.

“United were disappointed but I don't regret going out to America at all.

“I have not only learnt a lot there about football but I have learnt a lot about life in general. I'm a well-rounded person, being at all these different places and meeting different people.

“It has definitely helped me become who I am today and, luckily for me, it’s all worked out."

Modric leaking Real Madrid information claims

18:10: Luka Modric is leaking Real Madrid information to Jose Mourinho.

These huge claims are made by Spanish outlet Diario Gol.

The Croatian still has a good relationship with his former boss, who signed him from Tottenham for Real back in 2012.

And he is supposedly telling Mourinho about the ongoings at the Bernabeu, in news that will no doubt anger Zinedine Zidane.

De Gea in Real Madrid push

17:15: David De Gea is harassing Sergio Ramos about a move to Real Madrid.

Don Balon say the Manchester United star is desperate to join the La Liga holders.

But his pushing of Ramos is not necessary given Real already have him on their radar.

They nearly signed him two years ago, only for a faulty fax machine to scupper a deal.

Jose resolves big issue - Robson

16.50: Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has resolved a major issue from last season by bringing pace into his side, according to pundit Stewart Robson.

Robson says that added pace has made United into the side he thought Mourinho would build in his time at Old Trafford.

“What they are doing now is playing with more pace,” he said on ESPN FC.

“They’re passing the ball forward, they’ve got runners beyond the ball, which they didn’t have last year.

“That was the major problem when they had Ibrahimovic up front and Rooney for the first part of it playing behind and he didn’t use Rashford enough.”

Napoli chief slams Juve over Pogba

16:45: Napoli chief Aurelio De Laurentiis has had a pop at Juventus for selling Paul Pogba to Manchester United last year.

"I see a Juventus that's more nervous and worried," he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"They have lost important players in recent years.

"Giorgio Chiellini is still there, but Bonucci went to Milan: he was crucial.

“Andrea Pirlo wasn't replaced and I would've kept Pogba her for the rest of my life."

Merson wants Rashford and Kane to play together more

Rashford and Kane must play up front - Merson

16.05: Manchester United star Marcus Rashford and Tottenham striker Harry Kane must play up front together for England, according to Paul Merson.

“I think he’s got to find a way of playing two up front,” Merson said on Sky Sports.

“He’s got to play three at the back and two up front. Teams won’t be able to cope with us with two up front.

“If you put Rashford and Kane up front, with Kane’s guile and everything and Rashford’s pace, we’ll petrify teams. We’ll petrify teams.”

Perisic to United

14:00: Jose Mourinho is reportedly considering a fresh move for Inter Milan ace Ivan Perisic.

United failed to match Inter’s £50million+ valuation for the Croatian in the summer.

But Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport say Perisic has a £53.5m release clause in his deal and hints United could revive their interest in the player next summer.

Bailly praises De Gea

13.10: Eric Bailly thinks Manchester United possess the best goalkeeper in world football in the form of David De Gea.

“It’s a good thing for us to have, in my opinion, the best defender, the best goalkeeper in the world,” he told the club’s official website.

“That gives us so much more confidence going into a match.

“David is very, very, very important for everything we do.

“The goalkeeper instills confidence not just in the defenders but in the whole team, so that’s why I think David is very important to the whole team.”

Lukaku can't be stopped - Higginbotham

12.05: Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku will be impossible to stop for opposition teams because of the players he has around him, according to Danny Higginbotham.

Higginbotham has been impressed with how the Belgian has dealt with the pressure of signing for a team of United’s stature.

"He’s just hit the ground running, it’s been easy for him,” the pundit said.

“In terms of teams finding him out, I think what he’s got is that he’s got players around him now that even if he does one thing and opposition teams go ‘okay, we can stop him doing that’, there’s so many different players that can support him now, so many different players that can assist him.

“I think he’s going to be very difficult to stop and he’s had a great start to the season.”

Liverpool to unveil Kenny Dalglish stand

09:00: Liverpool have announced the official unveiling of the Kenny Dalglish Stand will take place before next week’s Premier League match against Manchester United.

Anfield’s Centenary Stand was renamed the Kenny Dalglish Stand in honour of the Scot’s contribution to the Reds, both on and off the field.

Installation of illuminated signage and exterior graphics to the front and inside of the stand is set for completion.

A special mosaic will be revealed across the Kenny Dalglish Stand and the Kop ahead of kick-off.

Marcus Rashford has everything - Ryan Giggs

07:30: Manchester United teenager Marcus Rashford has “got everything”, according to Ryan Giggs.

Giggs says the 19-year-old is very hard to stop because he can hurt opposing defences in a number of ways.

“If you get closer he can run in behind and that’s where he can really hurt you,” he said on ITV.

“So he’s really got everything and like you said the body positioning is really good.

“And he’s playing on the left, right-footed, so he can go either side which he’s shown a couple of times as well.”
