Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola, Manchester United’s Jose Mourinho, Tottenham’s Mauricio Pochettino and Arsenal’s Arsene Wenger have been shortlisted.

Guardiola’s City were the only team to finish the month unbeaten and they lead the Premier League on goal difference thanks to thumping wins over Liverpool, Watford and Crystal Palace and an impressive 1-0 victory over Chelsea.

Mourinho, who was also nominated in August, saw his United team draw 2-2 in their opening match of the month to Stoke.

But they then beat Everton, Southampton and Crystal Palace.
