Arsenal News: Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus on radar for January with Inter lurking

BORUSSIA DORTMUND star Marco Reus is on Arsenal’s radar for January, according to reports.

Arsenal are set to invest in a winger in the New Year with Alexis Sanchez likely to depart at the end of the season.

The former Barcelona star remains the Gunners’ talisman but, having refused to sign a contract extension, his time at the Emirates appears to be drawing to a close.

And Transfer Market Web say Arsenal are monitoring Reus, who continues to be plagued by injuries over at Borussia Dortmund.

When fully fit and firing, the Germany international is among the best wingers in world football.

But, though his stock has risen during his time at Dortmund, his game time has plummeted.

The 28-year-old arrived with big expectations from Borussia Monchengladbach four years ago.

But he has managed to make just 189 appearances for Dortmund in his five years as the Westfalenstadion.

Transfer Market Web say he continues to be tracked by Arsenal despite his fitness woes.

However, the Gunners are not the only club keen on snapping him up.

Serie A giants Inter Milan are also admirers and could make a move if given any encouragement.

Arsenal’s cause may be helped if the player is put up for sale, which could happen at the end of the season.

Dortmund would likely demand a fee of £35million to part with Reus.

Meanwhile, speaking earlier this week, the Germany international admitted he would give up all his wealth if it meant being fully fit, 100 per cent of the time.

"The tears came again two or three days later when I went through it again in my mind," he told GQ when asked about the injury he sustained in the DFB Cup final win last season.

Arsenal News: Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus could replace Alexis Sanchez

"To be alone, working your way back is the most demanding part. I was really fed up after three weeks.

“It's a brutal mental test because you always have to work on your own.

"As top players, we earn a lot of money, but sometimes we pay a hefty price with our health.

“I would give away all the money to be healthy again, to be able to do my job. To do what I love: to play football."
