Danny Ings has recovered from two major injuries

The 25-year-old has suffered and battled back from two long-term injuries.

The first injury came when he damaged his knee ligaments during a Liverpool training session and he has only just returned from a second setback suffered a year later when he messed up the cartilage in his right knee.

Ings has become something of a forgotten man at Anfield, as Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane have flourished this term, scoring seven goals between them in the Premier League.

But Ings isn’t ready to turn his back on the Reds just yet despite his injury woes.

“Everywhere I have been, I have always found a way to make it happen,” Ings told The Times

“I have been in a lot of tough situations at previous clubs where it has been hard to break in.

“People from the outside looking in will probably have the assumption, ‘Oh, he’s the forgotten man,’ but it has not crossed my mind at all.

“I still believe in myself. I still believe I can play in this team.

Danny Ings is hoping to work his way back into Jurgen Klopp's plans

“When you are at a club like Liverpool, it is not a club that you want to walk away from.

“It would grate on me for the rest of my career, and the rest of my life, if I had not done everything to give it my all.

“I still feel like I have a big part to play in this football club.”
