Harrison told to stay

15.55: Reported Manchester United target Jack Harrison has been told to stay at New York City amid interest from Manchester City.

Former West Ham goalkeeper and ESPN FC pundit Shaka Hislop does not think a move to City would be good for Harrison at this point in his career.

“You look at City’s team and I’m not sure where he fits in,” Hislop said.

“No he doesn’t (fit in) and for me this is a miss.

“I think the last thing Jack Harrison needs right now is this hype. Let him continue to develop, he’s doing a wonderful job in New York.”

Barca target Anthony Martial

14:30: Barcelona reportedly plan to sign Manchester United forward Anthony Martial, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic's return fuelling their hopes.

Martial has enjoyed a stunning start to the new season for Manchester United, scoring five goals and weighing in with six assists.

However, despite his impressive form, the France international continues to be overlooked for a starting berth by manager Jose Mourinho.

Arsenal have been tipped to sign him, with uncertainty still continuing to surround wing wizard Alexis Sanchez.

But Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo claim Barcelona have an ambitious plan to sign Martial at the end of the season.

It is said they are monitoring the player's situation with great interest - and have liked what they have seen.

Reds trying to snatch Ghoulam

14:20: Liverpool are ready to make a move for Napoli ace Faouzi Ghoulam in a bid to head off interest from Manchester City.

The Algerian international is out of contract at the end of the season and talks about a new deal have stalled over a release clause.

His agent Jorge Mendes wants a £30 million release clause in the deal which Napoli believe is well below his market value and are reluctant to meet it.

City want Ghoulam as a replacement for Benjamin Mendy who is ready to miss the rest of the season after having an operation on damaged knee ligaments.

Liverpool have been tracking him for the last year and rate him as one of the best left-backs in Europe and will have to move or risk losing him.

Atletico Madrid, Chelsea and Juventus have all expressed an interest in signing him when the transfer window opens in the New Year as well as City.

Real Madrid and Barcelona set for fight

13:45: Real Madrid are preparing for a transfer battle with Barcelona over one of the Catalan club’s top targets for next summer.

Barcelona are desperate to bring young recruits into the side to ensure they have the best Spanish talent in La Liga.

Their famed La Masia academy has dried up in recent years, with fewer and fewer graduates making it into Ernesto Valverde’s first team.

And Barcelona-based newspaper Mundo Deportivo claim scouts have earmarked two top talents to sign at the end of the season.

However, Real are also watching one of those prospects.

The player in question is Real Sociedad right-back Alvaro Odriozola.

Barca’s technical director Robert Fernandez is said to be a fan of the 21-year-old, who can also play as a winger if required.

Odriozola only made his Sociedad debut last season but is now a regular in their first team, making nine appearances this season and his Spain debut in the 3-0 win over Albania on Friday night.

Mundo Deportivo claim Barcelona are aware of Real’s interest in Odriozola, with Zinedine Zidane’s current right-back Dani Carvajal injured.

Zidane has also supposedly lost patience with 18-year-old Achraf Hakimi, so a move for Odriozola makes sense.

Fellaini out for two weeks

11:45: Manchester United's midfield injury concerns deepened yesterday when in-form Belgian Marouane Fellaini picked up a knee injury on international duty which will keep him away from the field for a couple of weeks.

The combative Fellaini has been pivotal to United's unbeaten start to the season but lasted just 29 minutes of a World Cup qualifier against Bosnia in Sarajevo before limping off after landing awkwardly on his knee.

Although the 29-year-old left the Grbavica Stadium without the use of crutches following Belgium's 4-3 win, coach Roberto Martinez offered a sombre assessment of the player's condition.

"We are all worried about Fellaini," Martinez told reporters. "We fear that there's ligament damage."

The Belgian FA said on Sunday Fellaini "will be out for a couple of weeks with a left knee injury" after the player underwent an MRI scan.

The injury comes a week before United's clash with Liverpool on October 14.

Real's double swoop

09:50: Harry Kane and Dele Alli are both on Real Madrid’s radar, according to reports in Spain.

Both Kane and Alli have hit top form for Tottenham and England in the past 12 months.

And their partnership has attracted Real’s eye, with Marca suggesting a double swoop is on the horizon.

Arsenal want to sign Anthony Martial

Zidane makes Hazard plea

06:30: Real Madrid have reportedly earmarked Eden Hazard as their first-choice target for next summer’s transfer window.

Bale has struggled to win over Real fans in recent years due to his injury woes.

And the Wales international hasn’t enjoyed the best of starts to the new season with just two goals in the opening five La Liga matches.

And the Spanish giants are said to be preparing for life without the 28-year-old next summer.

Spanish outlet Don Balon claim Real president Florentino Perez has already drawn up a list of players he wants to bring in next summer.

And Zinedine Zidane has made a personal plea to the club to bring Hazard to the Spanish capital.

Arsenal want Martial

05:30: Arsenal will reportedly turn their attention to Anthony Martial once Alexis Sanchez leaves the club.

Gunners fans will be keen to see their club make a marquee signing to replace their star player.

Sanchez has been the club’s top scorer in two of the last three seasons since joining from Barcelona in 2014 and was key in Arsenal’s FA Cup win over Chelsea earlier this year.

And Arsene Wenger has already earmarked a replacement for the 28-year-old.

That’s according to the Sunday Mirror, who claim Arsene Wenger is ready to make an approach for Manchester United winger Martial.

AC Milan in £80m bid for Aguero

04:30: AC Milan are ready to pay up to £80million to bring Sergio Aguero to the Serie A in January, according to reports.

The Italian giants were said to have planned to make a move in the summer but Manchester City’s failure to bring in Alexis Sanchez stopped the move from happening.

However, according to The Sun, Milan will return with a bid in the New Year with City ready to return with an offer for Sanchez.

Pep Guardiola and Aguero have been rumoured to have a tempestuous relationship since the Spaniard arrived at the Etihad.

Rashford contract

03:30: Marcus Rashford is set to be rewarded with a new contract ahead of his 20th birthday, according to reports.

Rashford has been in excellent form for United this season so far, scoring five goals and providing four assists in 11 games.

He only made his professional debut 18 months ago when he bagged a brace to help United to a 3-2 win over rivals Arsenal.

And it has been a whirlwind year-and-a-half for the teenager.

He has since gone on to represent his country at the European Championships, lifted three trophies including the EFL Cup and Europa League last year and has already been touted to have a big role for England in the coming years.

And The Sun on Sunday claim the young forward will be offered a new lucrative contract instead of the many bonuses in his current deal worth £50,000-a-week.
