Liverpool news: Jurgen Klopp should make this one change against Man Utd - Aldridge

JURGEN KLOPP should start Andy Robertson for Liverpool against Manchester United.

Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp has rude outburst at press conference

That is the verdict of Reds legend John Aldridge.

Liverpool welcome United to Anfield on Saturday (12.30pm) in what is expected to be one of the most eagerly-anticipated clashes of the season.

Klopp has come under scrutiny over his side’s leaky defence this term and they have already conceded 12 goals in the Premier League.

The Reds have struggled defensively, and although Aldridge largely thinks the team picks itself against United, he would like to see one change and that would be Robertson to come in for Alberto Moreno.

“I think the team pretty much picks itself for the weekend – but there is one change I would really like to see,” Aldridge told the Liverpool Echo.

“I would love Andy Robertson to start at left back.

“I like the look of this lad, I like his left foot and the balance he gives going forward. He also looks a better defender than Alberto Moreno, from the little bits I've seen.

John Aldridge thinks Andy Robertson should start for Liverpool against Manchester United

“When he's started for us, he's had an impact. I think United will try to lock down the middle of the pitch, so we'll be pushed out to the flanks.

“That's where Robertson, with those crosses he can whip in between goalkeeper and defender, can be a real asset.”

Liverpool drew 1-1 away to Newcastle in their last game before the international break.
