Man Utd news: Jose Mourinho will be tactically different against Liverpool, says Babb

That is according to Sky Sports pundit and former Liverpool defender Phil Babb.

Mourinho’s sides are notorious for sitting back against their closest rivals in the league and hitting them on the counter attack.

However, with Manchester United’s start to the season, Babb thinks it will be a more attacking display from the visitors.

The Red Devils are level on points at the top of the table with Manchester City, scoring 21 goals in their seven games so far this term.

I think he could go ‘you know what guys, we’re scoring goals for fun’

Phil Babb on Man Utd boss Jose Mourinho

“Yeah, for sure (it’s a different scenario to last season where they drew 0-0),” Babb said.

“Again you harp back to Liverpool’s defensive frailties and I think he could go ‘you know what guys, we’re scoring goals for fun’.

“What’s it? Nine goals in their last three games.

“They could go to Anfield with that attitude of ‘we can win this and we can win it quite comfortably if we attack a frail back four’.

Man Utd news: Jose Mourinho will be more attacking than normal against Liverpool, reckons Babb

“So will he (Jose Mourinho) be that cagey?

"When that confidence is flowing through the side, does he have to sure it up?

“I don’t think he has to because that team can score goals at will.

“I’d like to see them go with an attacking approach because it will make a fantastic spectacle.”
