Man Utd news: Victor Lindelof's struggles continue with handball gaffe for Sweden - Video

VICTOR LINDELOF has had a difficult start to his career at Manchester United.

But he has been able to find comfort with his national team Sweden, where he is regular under manager Janne Andersson.

However, with Sweden facing the Netherlands for a place in the World Cup play-offs, a big performance from Lindelof was needed in central defence.

But Lindelof's night got off to an awful start when he conceded a penalty for handball in the 15th minute.

A ball was played into the Dutch area but what should have been a routine clearance resulted in Lindelof kicking the ball onto his own hand.

A penalty was awarded and Arjen Robben grabbed his fifth goal of qualifying by chipping his shot low down the middle.

Lindelof is yet to make an appearance in the Premier League for United but he has made two Champions League appearances and played in the EFL Cup win over Burton.

Despite his lack of opportunities, Lindelof is refusing to be downbeat.

He told Swedish outlet Expressen earlier this month: "I feel no stress.

"I'm in one of the world's best clubs, it's clear that it's tough competition.

"But it may have the time it takes."
