Man Utd news: Losing Marouane Fellaini to injury is no problem - Jose Mourinho

MANCHESTER UNITED boss Jose Mourinho insists the loss of Marouane Fellaini to injury is no problem.

Marouane Fellaini elbows Gerard Pique in the face

Fellaini suffered knee ligament damage in Belgium's 4-3 World Cup qualifying win over Bosnia at the weekend and is expected to miss at least two weeks of action.

The 29-year-old has impressed for United this season and in United's last game before the international break, he scored twice as they beat Crystal Palace 4-0.

United face Liverpool at Saturday lunchtime and Mourinho will have to reshuffle his midfield.

Speaking ahead of the match, Mourinho ruled Fellaini out of the match.

No problem. Another one plays, no problem for me

He told Premier League Productions: "I don't know how he is.

"[But] from what I read I don't think he can play the match."

When asked how much of a problem Fellaini's absence would be, he added: "No problem.

"Another one plays, no problem for me."

And when discussing possible replacements, Mourinho refused to say whether Ander Herrera would return to the starting line-up.

The United boss said: "Not just Ander. We trust everyone. We lost players last season. We lost players this season.

"And [for] our way of thinking and feeling, it's no problem. One player is not playing, another one plays.

"It's an opportunity for another one and we trust. And we never hide behind this or that player, this or that injury.

"We trust the ones that are going to play."
