Liverpool vs Man Utd: Alan Brazil makes huge title race claim for Premier League clash

LIVERPOOL’s title challenge could well be over if they lose to bitter rivals Manchester United tomorrow at Anfield (12.30pm).

Hutchison: How Liverpool can beat Man Utd in Premier League

That is the view of talkSPORT presenter and former Manchester United striker Alan Brazil.

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side currently sit seventh in the Premier League table, seven points off United and Manchester City at the top.

After the visit of the Red Devils, Liverpool then face a trip to Wembley to face Tottenham next weekend.

Brazil reckons United boss Jose Mourinho will not want to drop any points tomorrow due to the form City are showing.

And if they do come away with all three, he reckons Liverpool’s hopes of a first Premier League title will have diminished greatly.

I think the way Jose Mourinho feels as well, the way City are playing, that he won't want to drop any points in this fixture

"It's an interesting game,” Brazil said.

“The outcome of the game interests me. If Liverpool lose they have to go to Tottenham next.

"So their title challenge could be well and truly over.

“I think the way Jose feels as well, the way City are playing, that he won't want to drop any points in this fixture.

"He'll be going for three points because City at the moment look absolute class.”

Former Liverpool and England striker Emile Heskey agrees with Brazil's claim.

"If Liverpool lost to Manchester United and Tottenham then they are out of the title race, but if they win those games then they're right back into the mix," Heskey said.

"They'd make a big statement if we got a result in those two games.

"It's a very important couple of weeks that could make or break their title hopes.

"There's no reason Liverpool can't beat Manchester United and Tottenham."
