Real Madrid are reportedly keen to reinforce their ageing frontline and have set their sights on Tottenham striker Harry Kane.

Spanish outlet Don Balon claim the 24-year-old is one of Florentino Perez’s top targets as he looks for a long-term replacement for Karim Benzema.

The La Liga giants will be given the opportunity to see Kane in action next week as Spurs travel to the Bernabeu for their Champions League clash.

But Manchester United will reportedly not let Real have a clear shot at the striker and will challenge them for his signature this summer.

The Red Devils will also be in need of offensive reinforcements come the end of the campaign with Zlatan Ibrahimovic moving on.

And they will reportedly stump up around £170million for Kane to prevent him moving to Real.

The England international has been turning heads this season and has already bagged 11 goals in nine appearances.

His fine form prompted Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola to brand Spurs the ‘Harry Kane team’ - something Mauricio Pochettino took offence to.

“I know Pep very well, especially when he is excited after an amazing victory against Chelsea,” Pochettino said.

“Sometimes he struggles to keep his position and be a gentleman.

“I take that situation – it didn't affect me but in reality, it was very disrespectful for many people.

“For me Harry Kane is one of the best strikers. It doesn't change anything for me.”
