Zlatan Ibrahimovic: Manchester United hero reveals when star can return for Jose Mourinho

MANCHESTER UNITED legend Andy Cole has revealed that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will return from injury in January.

Manchester United hero Cole shared an image of himself with Ibrahimovic in the gym last week.

Ibrahimovic has been out of action since April after sustaining a serious knee injury in the Red Devils’ Europa League clash with Anderlecht at Old Trafford.

It meant he missed the chance to play in the Europa League final but, having signed on again in August, he is ready to provide an added dimension to Jose Mourinho’s attack.

And Cole says that Ibrahimovic will be back at Mourinho’s disposal in January, despite some reports claiming he could be back on the pitch for Manchester United by the end of the month.

“Really good. Back next year, I think, so he’s done well really,” he told the Sun.

“He’ll get games because he’s got so much quality. And he’s brilliant in the dressing room.

“I love Zlatan. He tells you how it is. He’s legendary.”

Ibrahimovic hit 28 goals for United last season after arriving on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain.

However, despite that contribution, Mourinho’s side are coping just fine without him.

The Red Devils have won six of their first seven Premier League games, with a 1-1 draw with Stoke the only blip on the record.

And Ibrahimovic's replacement, Romelu Lukaku, has bagged 11 goals from his first 10 games since signing from Everton.

United will be aiming to continue their stunning start when they face Liverpool at Anfield this afternoon (12.30pm).
