Liverpool vs Man Utd: Romelu Lukaku was not concentrating in the first half, says Henry

That is the view of Sky Sports pundit and Belgium’s assistant manager Thierry Henry.

Lukaku had a golden opportunity to give Manchester United the lead towards the end of the first-half at Anfield.

He found himself one-on-one with goalkeeper Simon Mignolet, but saw his shot comfortably parried away by his countryman.

Henry says Lukaku was not in the right frame of mind due to earlier incidents in the game.

I think the way the game has been going for him, he wasn’t concentrated enough on finishing

The striker had been involved in altercations with a couple of Liverpool players including Dejan Lovren.

“I think the way the game has been going for him, he wasn’t concentrated enough on finishing,” Henry said of the Manchester United star.

“A lot of stuff has been going on in his head.

“But keep it low, keep it low and Mignolet would have had bigger problem in trying to save that.

“But it was right where the goalkeeper was, the height of the ball was right for the goalkeeper.

“The way he was when he received that ball, he wasn’t in the right frame of mind to execute what he wanted to execute.”

Lukaku did not get another chance, with the game ending 0-0 at Anfield, just as it did last season.
