Mourinho has spoken to PSG

16:45: Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has previously spoken to Paris Saint-Germain about taking over as their manager.

That is according to French football expert Julien Laurens.

“The truth though is that PSG and Jose Mourinho have spoken with each other in the past,” Laurens told ESPN FC.

“Jorge Mendes is very close to the people at PSG, Nasser Al-Khelaifi for example.

“I think there was a time where PSG would have loved to have had Jose Mourinho.

“The problem is, again, is the style of football that Mourinho plays.

“It is not really the one that the Qatari ownership wants at PSG.

“They don’t want Neymar and (Kylian) Mbappe going into the Champions League, let’s say at Liverpool, and going there for a 0-0 draw.

“So that could be a problem for Mourinho if he wants to go to PSG.”

Sterling on Arsenal

13:48: Raheem Sterling says he was not interested in the summer transfer rumours linking him with Arsenal.

Asked if he had words with City manager Pep Guardiola, Sterling said: “I didn’t need to speak with him because i’d already spoke in summer about pre season.

“I didn’t have any negative thoughts.

“I just woke up one day with England, saw it and didn’t believe a word of it.”

Koulibaly to Chelsea

12:52: Napoli are willing to sell Kalidou Koulibaly to Chelsea next summer, according to reports.

However, the deal would likely cost the Blues a hefty sum.

Calciomercato claim Koulibaly is available for as much as £62million.

And he will likely look to leave Napoli if they win Serie A this season.

Mourinho to PSG

11:56: Danny Murphy says Jose Mourinho would be foolish to ditch Manchester United for PSG.

“I want him (to stay),” Murphy said on talkSPORT.

“I don’t understand that. How can he be managing one of the biggest clubs in the world and then talk about where he will be going later?”

On United’s draw with Liverpool on Saturday, Murphy added: “I love Mourinho, he’s probably the best manager.

“He doesn’t frustrate me by doing that, going for the point and getting it.

“What frustrates me is the interview after. He said he was waiting. Why? He said he didn’t have anyone on the bench to change the game tactically. But he did.

“He could have put Rashford alongside Lukaku. Or Mata as a 10. That bench is as good as any bench."

Cavani wants Man City move

08:05: Edinson Cavani wants to leave PSG for Manchester City.

Don Balon say the Uruguay international is eying a move away from the Parc des Princes following his spat with Neymar.

And he has supposedly made a move to City his No1 priority.

Real Madrid and Manchester United have also been tipped to sign Cavani in January.

Wilshere contract

07:34: Jack Wilshere is set to be offered a new contract at Arsenal.

Wilshere’s current deal runs out at the end of the season and the midfielder supposedly faces an uncertain future.

He is struggling to break back into the Gunners first team and was offered out on loan in the summer.

Yet the Mirror claim Arsenal are still willing to offer the England international a new deal.

Ronaldo orders De Gea signing

07:00: Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly ordered Real Madrid to sign David De Gea.

The La Liga giants have been long-term admirers of the Spain international and came close to signing him two years ago.

And according to Spanish outlet Diario Gol, De Gea could head to the Bernabeu if Ronaldo gets his way.

The Portuguese is hoping Zinedine Zidane can strike a deal for Chelsea's Thibaut Courtois if he can’t get De Gea to make the move to the Spanish capital.

Ronaldo blocked Pogba and Ibrahimovic deals

05:00: Cristiano Ronaldo and Paul Pogba blocked the arrivals of Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic at Real Madrid, according to shock reports in Spain.

And it seems Ronaldo is keen to ensure he remains top dog at the Bernabeu and has reportedly prevented a number of high-profile players from joining.

Spanish outlet Diario Gol claim Manchester United duo Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba both had their moves to Real blocked by the Portuguese.

The report says Ibrahimovic was eventually overlooked because he would have clashed with Ronaldo as the No 1 personality at the club.

And a move for Pogba was also shelved because Ronaldo and the Frenchman's agent Mino Raiola did not see eye-to-eye.

Sanchez/Ozil claim

02:00: Arsenal should have shown Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil the door a while ago.

That is according to BBC Sport pundit Alan Shearer.

“Though I don’t think for a minute Ozil’s miss had anything to do with his contract being up, it doesn’t help the overall attitude and feeling in the squad knowing that in a couple of months those two key players can start negotiating to play for another club with their contracts up in the summer,” Shearer told The Sun.

“Two players worth a combined £100million in today’s market are heading out the door for free in two of the longest and potentially most ignominious goodbyes in the club’s history.

“That is unless one of the big clubs is so desperate for an injection of talent that they will pay good money for one of them in January."

Liverpool Philippe Coutinho hope

23:15: Barcelona are considering a move for Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago, casting doubt over their pursuit of Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho.

Spanish outlet Don Balon claim Barca are not willing to match the Reds' £160m valuation for Coutinho and will now look elsewhere.

Thiago is said to have caught the Catalan club's attention and he is said to be receptive to a possible return to the Nou Camp.

The 26-year-old left in 2013 for Bayern but his younger brother Rafinha is still on the books at Barca.

Arsenal eye Maksimovic

20:30: Arsenal are weighing up a move for Napoli defender Nikola Maksimovic, according to Italian publication Calciomercato.

The Gunners are thought to be willing to fork out around £22million to bring the Serbia international to the Emirates.

Maksimovic is under contract with Milan until 2021

Liverpool plan Woodburn deal

17:50: Liverpool are prepared to hand young forward Ben Woodburn a new deal, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The 18-year-old signed his first professional deal a year ago but the Reds are keen to tie him down to a long-term contract.

After bursting onto the scene last year, the teenager now has 10 first team appearances under his belt and has also made his debut for Wales.

Mourinho’s PSG hint

14:00: Jose Mourinho insists he will not finish his career at Manchester United and has even hinted a move to Paris Saint-Germain could be on the cards in the future.

Reports earlier this week suggest the Portuguese is in line for a new £65million five-year deal with the Red Devils boss keen to sign.

However, when speaking to Telefoot, Mourinho said that the Red Devils would not be his last job in management, when asked about a possible move to PSG.

He said: “What I can say is that I am still a manager with questions, with ambitions, with a desire to do new things and I do not think… I am sure that I will not finish my career here.”

“The other day, my son who lives in London decided to go to Paris and not Manchester to watch a match. Why Paris? Because at the moment, PSG have something special. There is a magic, youthfulness and quality. It is fantastic.”

Rose battle

12:21: Manchester United and Chelsea both want to sign Tottenham’s Danny Rose, according to the Star on Sunday.

Rose is expected to be back in full training next week after suffering knee ligament damage in January and he already has Premier League suitors ready to make their move in the winter transfer window.

Mauricio Pochettino faces a tough fight on his hands with the England international thought to be keen on a fresh start away from the north London club.

De Gea and Bale demand

11:45: Manchester United fear Real Madrid will demand David de Gea next summer as part of any deal to sign Gareth Bale.

The Red Devils are hopeful of luring the Welshman to Old Trafford but Madrid are unlikely to let one of their prized assets join without getting De Gea in return.

The Mirror claim Mourinho is reluctant to meet Madrid’s demands but he faces a difficult decision when it comes to deciding whether to keep hold of his no1 goalkeeper or strengthen his attacking options.

De Gea is happy at United but has told close friends he wants to one day move to the Bernabeu.

Pirlo denies Chelsea links

11:07: Andrea Pirlo has ruled out moving to Chelsea to take up a coaching role once he retires.

The Italy legend will hang up his boots when his contract expires in December with New York City FC.

With Antonio Conte at the helm at Chelsea there were suggestions he could bring in the Italian veteran to his coaching staff - but Pirlo says he needs time out before deciding his next move.

Asked if he would be taking up a coaching role at Chelsea, he told the Daily Mail: “No I won’t.

“I need to rest! ‘I will go back to Italy, have a break and spend time with my family and friends. Take some time to think about what to do next.”

Van Dijk battle

10:30: Liverpool will have to battle Barcelona for Virgil van Dijk.

The Mirror claim the Catalan giants have been scouting the Dutchman and are willing to battle the Reds to his signature.

Should Southampton decide to cash in on Van Dijk in the summer they would rather sell the 26-year-old to Barcelona than Liverpool.
