Man Utd News: Cristiano Ronaldo wants Marcus Rashford if Harry Kane move fails

CRISTIANO RONALDO reportedly wants Real Madrid to sign Manchester United hitman Marcus Rashford if the La Liga giants cannot land Harry Kane from Tottenham.

Real Madrid have been repeatedly linked with a move for Kane, with the Tottenham striker currently enjoying the best form of his career.

The England international already has 13 goals for club and country for the campaign, despite failing to get on the scoresheet in August.

Tottenham are adamant that he will not be sold - despite Manchester United also being linked with a huge £170million deal.

But Spanish outlet Don Balon claims Cristiano Ronaldo wants Real Madrid to raid his old club for Rashford if Kane ends up staying put in north London.

The 19-year-old is currently thriving at Old Trafford.

After struggling at times last season, Rashford has already hit five goals for Jose Mourinho’s team.

United look toothless without him at the weekend, with the teenage sensation starting the game against Liverpool on the bench.

And Ronaldo, it seems, is among his admirers.

Don Balon say the 32-year-old still pays close attention to his old club, who he is known to have a soft spot for.

The Portugal international also thinks Rashford will become one of the best players in world football in the next few years.

Ronaldo supposedly feels that the youngster would be happy to play second fiddle to Karim Benzema for a while.

Benzema’s form has waned in the last year and, despite signing a new contract, many fans want him sold at the end of the season.

Rashford could play the role of understudy for a year or two before then becoming Real’s leading striker once the former France international departs.
