Sky Sports make Man Utd howler on live TV... or do they know something we don't?

SKY SPORTS were left red-faced this afternoon after making a Manchester United gaffe on live TV.

Silky smooth Rob Wotton was running through stats on the Premier League when the blunder occurred shortly after midday today.

All seemed well as Wotton walked to the large screen in the Sky Sports News studio to discuss the best keepers in the country.

He was busy raving about David de Gea, who has kept seven clean sheets in eight games, as he prepared to welcome his graphic on the large digital display

Given De Gea's record is the best in the Prem, you'd think he'd be a pretty recognisable man - but not so.

Instead, Sky put up a huge graphic of Newcastle midfielder Jonjo Shelvey and Southampton's James Ward-Prowse under the heading 'Clean sheets 2017-18'.

We know Newcastle are for sale - but they haven't taken to putting Shelvey in goal, have they?

Wotton notices the blunder early and swiftly jokes about the cock-up before resuming his stats run-down.

As for the figures Wooton really wanted? Express Sport brings you them below

Premier League clean sheets

1) David de Gea - 7

2) Ederson - 5

3) Hugo Lloris - 5

4) Lukasz Fabianski - 4

5) Jonas Lossl - 4

6) Petr Cech - 4

7) Nick Pope - 3

8) Ben Foster - 3

9) Thibaut Courtois - 3
