Man Utd news: Timing of Jose Mourinho’s PSG comment bemuses me - Jamie Redknapp

JAMIE REDKNAPP has admitted he feels bemused by Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho’s comments about Paris Saint-Germain.

Jamie Carragher SLATES Jose Mourinho's tactics

Mourinho was widely criticised for his negative tactics in United’s goalless draw away to Liverpool last Saturday.

United rarely threatened, with Romelu Lukaku firing blanks, as the result was the same as last season’s corresponding fixture at Anfield.

Mourinho has confirmed he will not end his managerial career at United, and hinted over the weekend he could pitch up at the Parc des Princes one day.

And Sky Sports pundit Redknapp can’t understand why Mourinho would get drawn into speculation over his future, with the start United have had to the campaign.

I don’t get why he would get drawn into something like that

“I don’t get why he would get drawn into something like that,” Redknapp told Sky Sports’ The Debate Show.

“There’s a feel-good factor at Manchester United this season.

“He’s started the season really well; had some good results; he seem a lot more content.

“Why on earth would you get drawn into any kind of conversation about a club you’re trying to compete with at the moment?

Jamie Redknapp was surprised by what Jose Mourinho said

“It just doesn’t make any sense.

“I get it because he spends three years at every club. He’s a bright guy but I just think he’s feeling flames he doesn’t need to.”

United are up against Benfica in the Champions League tonight (7.45pm).
