Redknapp gives title hope

18.35: Jamie Redknapp has given Manchester United and Chelsea hopes they can still win the Premier League title.

Redknapp says it is only early and says top-of-the-table Manchester City could suffer a blip and see their title hopes go up in flames.

“What I will say is, it’s early,” the former Liverpool midfielder said on Sky Sports.

“They started last season really, really well. I get that (there seems to be a different vibe), I get that.

“But you know what it’s like with football, the wheels can soon come off if you have one or two bad results.

“It doesn’t look like it at the moment because they are playing so well, but one or two injuries and things can change.”

Redknapp explains Pep and Jose differences

17.30: Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho and Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola view football in a completely different way to one another, according to Jamie Redknapp.

Redknapp has defended Mourinho’s tactics in the 0-0 draw with Liverpool but says Guardiola would have not done the same because he “wakes up and sees football different” to the Portuguese.

“We’re talking about Mourinho by the way. We are talking about two completely different managers who have a completely different mindset,” he said on Sky Sports.

“They wake up and they see football completely different. Mourinho and Guardiola, they don’t see the game the same.

“Mourinho sees it defensively, Guardiola sees the beautiful game.”

Wright slams Jose

17.05: Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho should not be picking games he expects to get victories from, according to Ian Wright.

Wright says that is a dangerous tactic because Chelsea’s shock defeat to Crystal Palace shows anyone can beat anyone in the Premier League.

“If you’re going to start picking points that you’re going to get, and I think they had a good opportunity to go to Liverpool and beat them, we saw what happened to Chelsea if you’re not on it,” the Arsenal legend said on Sky Sports.

“Palace, hadn’t won in seven, hadn’t scored a goal, they beat them.

“You can’t take anyone for granted in this league.”

PSG want Mourinho

15:37: PSG want to steal Jose Mourinho from Manchester United at the end of the season - and they think their new Portuguese recruit will help them land him.

Mourinho has been noncommittal on his future this week after hinting at a move to PSG in an interview with a French magazine.

And the Sun claim PSG will make their move for Mourinho having failed to land him in 2016.

And it is reported that PSG believe, having appointed sporting director Antero Henrique who worked with Mourinho at Porto in the summer, that they have the key to getting him.

Lindelof will come good

13.20: Rui Vitoria insists Victor Lindelof will not be a dud at Manchester United.

Lindelof left the Portuguese Giants to join United last summer in a £30.75m deal.

The centre back was expected to go on and establish himself at the heart of Jose Mourinho's defence.

But the Swedish international has endured a difficult start to life at United and struggled to make an impact.

But his former boss Vitoria is convinced Lindelof will go on to become a huge success and he said:

"He is a very high quality player, he has been playing with Jose Mourinho.

"Of course when you move from the Portuguese championship to an English championship, so there is a phase, a stage of adaptation.

"But I do foresee that in the future Lindelof will be a player of Jose Mourinho's team. He has a lot of value, he is very cold, very competitive and ha as great deal of quality.”

Mourinho message to board over Woodward

11:41: Good news on Jose Mourinho for United fans...

According to the MEN,  Mourinho has assured Manchester United there is no conflict between him and Ed Woodward.

That's despite refusing to commit his future to Old Trafford.

Not off to PSG then... (yet).

Pereira could shine in England

10.00: Andreas Pereira could shine in the Premier League, according to Guillem Balague.

The Manchester United ace is on loan at Valencia but Balague reckons he could be an asset in England.

“He’s got a lot of quality, but he needs to perform regularly,” Balague told Sky Sports.

“At the moment he isn’t in the line-up, but when he comes on he has personality, wants the ball and knows what he has to do.

“Let’s see in the coming months if he has forced his way into the league because at the moment he is 13th, 14th on the team sheet, not a starter. But I like him.”

Time running out on Shaw

08.45: Luke Shaw has seven months to save his Manchester United career.

The defender has played just once this season - in the League Cup against Burton Albion - but is with the squad for tonight’s game.

And Shaw needs to prove his fitness, and his ability, all over again to show he can be the solution to Jose Mourinho’s left back problem.

Mourinho has started looking for other options having used Matteo Darmian and Ashley Young there this season.

Mata turns down China

09.00: Juan Mata has reportedly rejected a huge contract offer from China to fight for his place at Manchester United.

Mata’s Manchester United contract ends in the summer but the Spaniard is keen to sign a new deal.

The former Chelsea player has plenty of admirers and would be free to open talks on a free transfer to a foreign club in January.

But Mata has no interest in moving to the Chinese Super League.

That is according to the Daily Mail, who claim he has snubbed a head-spinning offer from the Far East.

The report claims Mata was offered £375,000 a week AFTER tax, which equates to £19.5million per season.

Redknapp questions Mourinho

08.30: Jose Mourinho’s PSG comments come at a strange moment, according to Jamie Redknapp.

Mourinho left the door open to a move to Paris when he spoke glowingly about the project this week.

And Redknapp thinks the timing is bemusing.

“I don’t get why he would get drawn into something like that,” Redknapp told Sky Sports’ The Debate Show.

“There’s a feel-good factor at Manchester United this season.

“He’s started the season really well; had some good results; he seem a lot more content.

“Why on earth would you get drawn into any kind of conversation about a club you’re trying to compete with at the moment?

"It just doesn’t make any sense.

“I get it because he spends three years at every club. He’s a bright guy but I just think he’s feeling flames he doesn’t need to.”

Rashford to Real

08.15: Cristiano Ronaldo wants Real Madrid to sign Marcus Rashford, according to reports in Spain.

Rashford has had a stunning start to his Manchester United career and Ronaldo has taken notice.

And Don Balon claim Ronaldo wants the England youngster to join him in Madrid.
