Man Utd News: Huge Zlatan Ibrahimovic injury update expected in next two weeks

MANCHESTER UNITED striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is ‘operating at 90 per cent’ according to reports.

Ibrahimovic's wonder goal for Sweden against England

Ibrahimovic’s Manchester United career looked over in April, when he sustained a serious knee injury in a 2-1 Europa League win over Anderlecht.

However, the 36-year-old signed a short-term contract extension over the summer and has been stepping up his rehabilitation ever since.

Reports have suggested Zlatan Ibrahimovic could be set to return by the end of the year, particularly after being named in the Red Devils’ Champions League squad.

And The Sun say a huge breakthrough for the former Barcelona and Inter Milan striker is just around the corner.

It is said the striker is already back training with the first team, with the Red Devils using the recent international break to get him more involved.

He has been running freely and shooting, but has so far been unable to join in with tackling and other physical contact.

However, The Sun say training ground staff are hopeful he will get the all-clear for those activities in the next couple of weeks.

And that should then pave the way for a stunning return.

Man Utd News: Zlatan Ibrahimovic is set to return to physical action in the next two weeks

United have coped well in his absence, winning six of their first eight Premier League fixtures.

The player’s replacement, Romelu Lukaku, has also found the net 11 times in as many games.

But Ibrahimovic’s experience could be key to United finally winning a first league title since 2013.

He has won league titles in every country throughout his career and wants to add England to that list.
