Spurs impressed as they went to the Spanish capital on Tuesday night to pick up a well-earned point against the reigning Champions League winners.

Arsenal meanwhile are getting ready for their Europa League clash Red Star Belgrade this evening.

It is a stark contrast to times gone by when it was the Gunners who were usually looking down on their north London rivals.

And Manchester United legend Keane didn’t hold back in his assessment of Arsenal and their current situation.

Speaking on ITV’s Champions League Highlights show, he was asked whether Tottenham’s result against Real proved they had moved ahead of Arsenal.

"I think most teams in the Premier League are ahead of Arsenal," Keane told ITV.

His comments left fellow pundit and former Arsenal star Dixon shocked at how Keane was able to keep a straight face as he delivered his quip.

But the former England defender conceded Tottenham had indeed confirmed they are a step ahead of Arsenal before Keane went on to praise Tottenham.

"Spurs now are rock solid, a really good team. They went to Real Madrid, they were very brave and showed a lot of courage," Keane said.

"The manager and players deserve great credit because this is a top Tottenham team now.

“They can be a threat in the Champions League, getting into the knock-out stages and getting to a quarter-final maybe."
