Ozil tweets transfer response

21:30: Mesut Ozil has told fans to "ignore the noise" amid speculation linking him with a transfer to Manchester United.

The German, who is out of contract in the summer, has been linked with a move to Old Trafford.

But ahead of Arsenal's game against Everton on Sunday, Ozil has taken to social media to respond.

The 28-year-old tweeted: "Ignore the noise and stay focused."

Timo Werner to Man Utd

19:20: Timo Werner has admitted he's dreamed of playing for Manchester United.

"As a small boy, you always dream of the huge clubs,” the RB Leipzig striker told Sky Sports.

"In earlier days, it was Manchester United.

"Under Sir Alex Ferguson, they always had great players, they always won. As a small boy, you always prefer the teams which are winning.

"That's something you can easily forget, especially when everything is going well. You see how you develop, that you play in the German national team - the number one, the world champion.

"Then you start to dream of perhaps playing somewhere else sometime."

Wenger on Ozil

17:00: Arsene Wenger insists speculation linking Mesut Ozil with a January move to Manchester United will not affect the Germany international.

"We have to deal with all kinds of speculation when the players are at the end of their contracts," Wenger said.

"On the other hand, to be professional is to give 100 per cent as long as you are somewhere. For the rest, we came out many times and said that's the situation.

The media can come out tomorrow and say that he extends his contract here. It will be exactly the same, it will not change anything. When you play the next game, commit 100 per cent."

Wijnaldum on Coutinho

15:06: Giorginio Wijnaldum is glad Philippe Coutinho didn’t leave Liverpool for Barcelona in the summer.

He said: “Normally if a player does something like that and he wants to go another club, then you will give him another hand and say, ‘good luck,’ because you did so many great things for the club.

“But on the other side, because Liverpool also have ambitions, a team with Coutinho is better than a team without Coutinho, especially Liverpool.

“Also on that side, we wanted him to stay, so it was a difficult situation, but we are happy that he is still here.

"You always have to wait how he is going to settle in again because he was disappointed, so you have to wait how he is going to do it after that. But he did it great.”

“People think that I play for PSG for the money, but I could get that elsewhere, too. If I had moved in the summer, there were clubs ready to pay €100m to sign me and I would have earned a lot more.

Ozil latest

The German has been strongly linked with a move to Manchester United with Jose MOurinhi ready to make a January move but a close pal insists the Gunners are yet to make their move.

“Mesut has not had any contract offer from Arsenal,” the source told The Sun.

“There were talks about a modest pay rise last season but all those talks ended in March.

“There’s been nothing since then.

“At the time there was uncertainty over Arsene Wenger’s future so the conversations stopped.”
