Ronald Koeman is desperate for a win against Arsenal

Everton boss Ronald Koeman has recalled Wayne Rooney after resting him for the Europa League defeat to Lyon.

Gylfi Sigurdsson, Leighton Baines, Idrissa Gueye and Phil Jagielka all return, whilst James McCarthy misses out.

Arsenal welcome back Alexis Sanchez, along with Aaron Ramsey and Laurent Koscielny.

Danny Welbeck and Calum Chambers miss out for the Gunners while Francis Coquelin makes the bench.

Koeman said: "If you look back to last season, we had some great games against some of the big teams in the Premier League.

"And why not against Arsenal? Arsenal is not unbeatable, it's also not the strongest team away from home this season."

Everton currently sit in 16th place and have won just once in their last five Premier League matches.

Arsenal are in seventh, knowinga win would bring them level with fourth-placed Chelsea.
