Edward Nketiah grabbed a double on his Arsenal debut

Teenager Nketiah announced himself last night with a double as the Gunners squeezed past Norwich 2-1 in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.

Iwobi meanwhile, has struggled to cement a first-team spot under Arsene Wenger this season after an impressive breakthrough campaign for the north London outfit.

And Gunners legend Wright wants to see Nketiah go on to become a first-team star one day.

“He's somebody that has came on and made a difference,” Wright told Sky Sports’ The Debate Show.

He's still amongst the first team but you just want someone to come through and make this kind of impact

"We've had a few players, Iwobi, for example, has came through recently and fizzled out a little bit.

"He's still amongst the first team but you just want someone to come through and make this kind of impact.

“I know it's against Norwich in the Carabao Cup but if he can continue to progress and get into the first team and the Premier League then obviously he's someone to be excited about.”

And Wright was impressed with Nketiah’s display, adding: “We've seen he's got an eye for goal. His two goals he's scored he's in the right place.

“So long it may it continue for him.

“Hopefully he can continue and break in [to the first team].”
