The Chile international was Manchester City’s hero by saving two Wolves spot-kicks in the shoot-out that decided the Carabao Cup fourth round tie at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday.

And it is not the first time Bravo has emerged as king of the shoot-outs. He saved three Portugal penalties in the Confederations Cup semi-final in the summer and helped Chile win the 2015 and 2017 Copa America tournaments with a save in each of the shoot-outs that settled the finals against Argentina.

He also saved from Brazilian striker Hulk in a shoot-out that settled the 2014 World Cup round of 16 tie.

Bravo said: “I have always felt confident. In my career, I have always been successful in these kind of situations.

"When there are penalties, I feel like a winner. It’s a mix of things you master over time.

“First, you have to work hard on penalties in training.

"Secondly, you must analyse how the opponent usually takes them.

"And finally, there is a key factor for me, my approach to these situations is to be strong and calm in a difficult situation, to try and make the shooter feel nervous and to try and make the referee hurry him so he doesn’t have so much time.”
