Manchester United 1-0 Tottenham: Anthony Martial reveals what Jose Mourinho told him to do

Martial came off the bench to score the winner, with United recording their first Premier League win in three.

The France international was brought on for Marcus Rashford with 20 minutes remaining.

But the 21-year-old only needed 10, slotting past Hugo Lloris after Romelu Lukaku's header fell into his path.

And Martial has praised the win, and revealed that Mourinho told him to find space to run into before he made his important cameo. 

"We lost the last game, so it’s important for us to win and score," he told Sky Sports after the game.

"The manager told me to find the space and I know Lukaku is good with his head.”

Meanwhile, Jamie Redknapp praised Martial for his dramatic late intervention.

"Martial was the difference," he said.

"He affects games. He must be thinking why isn’t he starting every week.

“He’s a genuine talent.” 

United are next in action against Chelsea on November 5.

The Red Devils will be out for revenge after losing the same game at Stamford Bridge 4-0 last season.
