United returned to winning ways in the Premier League yesterday with a hard-earned 1-0 win against fellow title rivals Tottenham.

The result came after a 0-0 draw at Liverpool two weeks ago and a stunning 2-1 defeat to Huddersfield.

The clean sheet against Tottenham was also Manchester United’s eighth in the English top flight and they have the best defensive record of anybody.

"One thing you can't criticise them for is their attitude. They are tough to beat.

“It's 36 games now unbeaten at Old Trafford - that's one hell of a record.

“A lot of clean sheets - they've got something going. There are a lot of positives.

"Mourinho set up to win the game today with two up top - which surprised us. He went for it.

“It was a struggle of a game but it was one they needed to win. There was pressure on United."
