Man Utd will sign one of Antoine Griezmann or Mesut Ozil at the end of the season

Manchester United appear to be back on track after recent victories over Tottenham and Benfica.

However, the form of Henrikh Mkhitaryan has prompted cause for concern in the corridors of Old Trafford.

The Armenia international has gone off the boil following a stellar start to the current campaign, with fans despairing at his lacklustre performances in recent weeks.

And the Manchester Evening News say Manchester United boss Mourinho is expected to land one of Griezmann or Ozil at the end of the season, possibly as a replacement for Mkhitaryan.

Griezmann was the Red Devils’ No1 target back in the summer after shining for Atletico Madrid.

But the France international instead decided to stick it out at the Wanda Metropolitano in the wake of the club’s transfer ban.

United supposedly spent much of last season monitoring the 26-year-old.

And Mourinho has also mulled over landing him in the New Year, but knows transfers of such scale are always easier to pull off in the summer.

The MEN add that Ozil could also swap the Emirates for Old Trafford.

The Germany international’s Arsenal career appears to be dwindling to a close, with a new deal still no closer to being agreed.

Mourinho managed Ozil and admires him from their time at Real Madrid together.

And United feel they will be able to sign him on a free transfer when his current Arsenal deal expires.
