La Liga news: Barcelona star Messi knows Ronaldo secret, Real Madrid star on Man Utd list

Barcelona star Lionel Messi thinks Cristiano Ronaldo’s inconsistent form is down to the fact he wants a new contract.

Ronaldo dismissed talk he wanted an extension after Los Blancos’ 3-1 Champions League defeat to Tottenham on Wednesday night.

But Spanish website Diario Gol claims that Messi feels Ronaldo does in fact want a new deal.

He supposedly thinks that the former Manchester United star’s form has waned as a result of this desire.

Ronaldo reportedly wants the same wage as Messi and, if they do not bow to his demands, he is open to leaving the Bernabeu as a free agent.

Real Madrid star Marco Asensio is reportedly wanted by Manchester United.

Spanish website Don Balon say the Spain international is scared of ending up like Alvaro Morata, who spent much of last season on the bench.

And, as a result, a move to the Premier League could be in the offing.

However, the Red Devils will face stiff competition from fellow European heavyweights Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain.

Both clubs are also interested in activating his £70million buyout clause.

Fernando Torres could leave Atletico Madrid in January, according to reports.

Atletico will welcome back Diego Costa, with the striker signing from Chelsea back in the summer.

And Cadena Ser say Costa’s arrival could see the La Liga giants lose one of their prodigal sons. 

Torres is currently in his second stint at Atletico after re-signing from Atletico in 2014.

Clubs from the MLS and China are reportedly ready to pounce and lure him away from the Wanda Metropolitano.
