Arsenal news: BBC Sport pundit Mark Lawrenson makes Manchester City vs Gunners prediction

ARSENAL will lose to Manchester City tomorrow.

Arsenal's Matt Macey's INCREDIBLE 'fingertip save'

That's the verdict of BBC Sport pundit Mark Lawrenson, who expects the Sky Blues to win regardless of what Arsene Wenger's got up his sleeve.

Arsenal sit fifth in the Premier League ahead of their visit to the Etihad, having collected 19 points from their opening 10 games.

And they'll be looking to build on a run which has seen them win four of their last five games in all competitions.

City, meanwhile, are top of the Premier League having dropped just two points since the campaign kicked off in August.

I think, plan or no plan, City will win

Lawrenson has suggested Wenger may have a plan in mind to stop City's unbeaten run.

He reckons it won't be enough when proceedings get underway tomorrow though.

Predicting a 2-0 home win, Lawrenson told BBC Sport: "At the moment there is no stopping Manchester City, but it can change.

"It can change for a variety of reasons, mainly injuries and loss of form, but they are on a fantastic run having taken 28 points from a possible 30 in the Premier League this season.

"People are saying: 'Give them the title now' - but the Premier League is a slog. They are in all competitions and that takes it toll eventually.

BBC Sport pundit Mark Lawrenson expects Manchester City to beat Arsenal 2-0 at the Etihad

"Arsene Wenger has always gone to the top teams and said: 'Right, we will play football'.

"I can't see Arsenal going there and saying 'let's attack them' because if they do that then the gates will open.

"However, Wenger did go to City a few seasons ago with a plan - and they won 2-0. But I think, plan or no plan, City will win."

Arsenal can leapfrog north London rivals Tottenham into third if they overcome City and Spurs fail to collect three points against Crystal Palace.
