Jose Mourinho's Manchester United sat four points ahead of Chelsea going into today's match

United visited Chelsea today hoping to record a first win at Stamford Bridge in the league since 2012.

Jose Mourinho's side went into the clash four points above Chelsea having only lost once.

Meanwhile, Chelsea suffered a 3-0 defeat to Roma in the Champions League last time out.

But with both sides full of international superstars, Mourinho was quick to highlight the key players in each team that both sides must respect.

We are going to try to win the match but if we think [Eden] Hazard, [Alvaro] Morata, [Michy] Batshuayi, Willian - if you think all these people don'tt deserve respect then we will be in trouble.

"You have to respect big players individually and you have to respect top opponents," Mourinho said before the match.

"I will be very happy if Chelsea doesn't care about Romelu Lukaku, doesn't care about Marcus Rashford, doesn't care about [Henrikh] Mkhitaryan. I will be very happy.

"I think they will be trying to win in the match but I think they will also be thinking about them and we will be the same.

"We are going to try to win the match but if we think [Eden] Hazard, [Alvaro] Morata, [Michy] Batshuayi, Willian - if you think all these people don't deserve respect then we will be in trouble.

"I expect a big match. It's a difficult match for both teams with both trying to win but with both teams respecting the opponent."
