Arsenal news: Robert Pires says the Gunners lack spirit and commitment

Arsenal currently sit sixth in the Premier League table and already find themselves 12 points off Manchester City at the top.

The Gunners have lost four of their 11 games to date and hopes of a first title since 2004 are already out of the window.

Pires has always been vocal in his support of Wenger despite large sections of support wanting the manager to leave the club.

The former winger knows the Arsenal squad well as he often trains with them to maintain his fitness and does not doubt their quality.

But he has questioned whether they have the level of spirit and commitment that is required.

“When I talk about Arsenal I’m always confident, always positive, because this is my team,” Pires told ESPN.

“I know all the players, of course I keep a very good relationship with Arsene Wenger

“Of course it’s not that easy, unfortunately we lost the last game against Man City.
