Tottenham eye move for Lanzini

05:30: Mauricio Pochettino wants to bring a bit of Argentinian flair to Tottenham’s squad by targeting a move for Manuel Lanzini.

That’s according to the Daily Mirror, who claim the Tottenham boss has been a long-term admirer of the West Ham star.

David Moyes’ arrival at the Hammers could mean big changes in the next transfer window and with Lansing attracting interest from some of the top clubs in Europe, the east London side could choose to cash in and reinvest.

Liverpool have also been mooted as potential suitors should Philippe Coutinho seal his dream move to Barcelona.

Coutinho house-hunting in Barcelona

04:00: Philippe Coutinho still has his heart set on pushing through a transfer to Barcelona from Liverpool.

That's according to Diario Gol, who claim the Brazil international has already started looking at potential houses in Spain.

His representatives supposedly flew out to Barcelona to find a house in the hope that a move can still be agreed in the January transfer window.

And the report claims Coutinho could opt for a house near Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Javier Mascherano close to the beach.

Conte targets Inter Milan's Icardi

02.00: Antonio Conte has made Inter Milan's Mauro Icardi his top January target, according to reports.

The Italian is keen to bolster his attacking ranks - which currently boasts Alvaro Morata and Michy Batshuayi.

Italian publication GOL are reporting that the Blues boss has told the Chelsea hierarchy to pursue Icardi

The 24-year-old has scored 86 goals in 155 games for the Serie A outfit.

It is suggested the Blues would have to stump up £88million (€100m) to prize him away from the San Siro.

If Icardi does move to Stamford Bridge, it could spell the end for Batshuayi.

The striker is currently out of favour and could be set for the exit door.

Loftus-Cheek on Chelsea exit

22:26: Ruben Loftus-Cheek has explained his decision to leave Chelsea on loan in the summer to spend the season at Crystal Palace.

"I had a vision and it became quite strong that I wanted to go from Chelsea," said Loftus-Cheek.

"I felt like I needed to play a lot, so I came in and said I wanted to go away from Chelsea and play games. So we came to an agreement.

"You can only improve so much in training. Games and training are completely different. So for me to get to that next level I needed to play regular football.

"I thought it was the best decision to go from Chelsea to play and develop myself which looks like being a good thing."

Fellaini concern

21.05: Manchester United may lose Marouane Fellaini to Besiktas or Galatasaray next summer.

That's according to Turkish football expert Emre Sarigul, who's revealed the midfielder's agent has been in talks over a move to Istanbul.

"Man United fans may (or may not) be pleased to know Fellaini's agent has been in talks with Besiktas and Galatasaray," he said.

"Two possibilities -Fellaini's agent is strengthening his hand for contract talks with Man Utd. He's off to Turkey’."

Giggs would love Sane

20.00: Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs says it is unfortunate Leroy Sane plays for Manchester City and not his former side.

Giggs occupied a similar position to Sane in his playing days and has paid tribute to the German’s recent form.

“Yeah, unfortunately he’s the wrong end of the city,” he said on ITV.

“This season, wow, it seems like he’s got everything this season.

“If you lose the ball deep, he can carry the team up the pitch. He picks the right cross and he’s scoring goals.”

City worried over Sanchez - Burley

19.10: Manchester City are worried Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez will join either Manchester United or Chelsea, says Craig Burley.

City came close to signing Sanchez in the summer, but when discussing his future, Burley suggested Chelsea and United will also be keen on him.

“There’s another couple of clubs that could satisfy his wage demands,” Burley said.

“That would be across London to Chelsea or up north to Manchester United.

“Maybe City are worried about him going to one of those clubs as well.”

Nicol picks dream defence

18.40: Liverpool’s defensive problems would be solved if they signed Atletico Madrid’s Diego Godin and Juventus’ Giorgio Chiellini, says Steve Nicol.

Nicol picked Godin and Chiellini as centre-back partners for his dream defence but would also be willing to throw in Chelsea’s Cesar Azplilicueta to make up a back three.

“I would stick Godin and I’d stick Chiellini together. Nobody is getting past those two,” he said on ESPN FC.

“Yeah (Azpilicueta), he doesn’t make any mistakes, solid as a rock, solid as the day’s long.

“The two most important ones are the centre-back partnership. That is Godin and Chellini.”

Sanchez should choose United - Nicol

17.55: Manchester United would be a far better option than Manchester City for Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez, says Liverpool legend Steve Nicol.

Nicol does not think Sanchez would start for City and says United would be a better move for him at this point in his career.

“Wherever he goes, he needs to go somewhere where he’s going to play regularly. I don’t see that at City,” he said on ESPN FC.

“Man United, I hadn’t honestly thought about it, but since you’ve brought that up, I think that would be a good move. He’s going to go there and he is going to play.”

Origi’s doing well…

17:45: Liverpool loanee Divock Origi is certainly enjoying himself at Wolfsburg.

Origi, 22, joined the Bundesliga club on a season-long loan in August and has hit the ground running.

The Belgian has netted  three goals in his last four appearances with an assist to boot.

Reports claim Wolfsburg are already looking at ways to keep Origi on a permanent basis, but it’s believed Liverpool chiefs see a long future for him at Anfield.

Morata: I never wanted to leave Real Madrid

17:30: Chelsea star Alvaro Morata admits he would welcome a return to Real Madrid.

The Spaniard ended his four-year spell with Los Blancos in the summer, signing for Chelsea in a deal that could rise to £70m.

Morata fell out of favour under Zinedine Zidane last season with the Frenchman opting to start Karim Benzema instead.

Widespread reports suggested the 25-year-old was pushing for a move to the Premier League  but it turns out he was forced to leave because of a lack of playing time, particularly in the Champions League.

"Of course I would return to Real Madrid, but it's complicated," Morata told Spanish radio station Cadena Ser's main football programme El Larguero.

"I told the coach I wanted to play more. That I wanted to go is foolishness. I felt important for Madrid, but I wanted to play in the Champions League knockout stages.

"I've never said a bad word of Madrid nor will I say it. Always I wish them the best. I'm a fan of Madrid but a Chelsea player."

Evra ban

17:15: Former Manchester United defender Patrice Evra has been banned from European club football for seven months after kicking a Marseille fan.

Evra, 36, kicked a supporter shortly before a Europa League match with Vitoria Guimaraes on November 2.

He was initially fined £8,829, and has now been banned until June 2018.

The Ligue 1 side conducted an investigation of the incident, and have now decided to terminate the Frenchman’s contract.

Vidal chase

17:00: Bayern Munich are prepared to listen to offers for Arturo Vidal, according to reports.

German publication Kicker claim Bayern are disappointed with Vidal’s recent performances, and aren’t sure whether he can return to his best.

The 30-year-old’s contract expires in June 2019, and the Bundesliga outfit are worried about their £50million-rated midfielder leaving for free.

Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal have all been linked with Vidal in the past while Chilean reports claim Antonio Conte spoke with him earlier this summer.

Zlatan praises Verratti

15:37: Zlatan Ibrahimovic has heaped big praise on Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti.

The PSG star was linked with a move away from the French capital last summer with United thought to be interested at one stage.

And Ibrahimovic seems to be a big fan of the Italian.

“No-one is better than him, but you have to play him in the right way to get the best out of him,” he said.

“You have to play him like at PSG where he plays in central midfield.”

Ronaldo made Neymar join PSG

14:25: Real Madrid were ready to sign Neymar from Barcelona this summer.

But Cristiano Ronaldo ensured the forward moved to PSG instead.

Spanish website Don Balon say Los Blancos thought Ronaldo would move to France.

But, with the Portugal international deciding to stay put, PSG instead signed Neymar from Barcelona.

Arsenal's Nydam blow

13.25: Arsenal target Tristan Nydam has extended his Ipswich Town contract.

Arsene Wenger is a fan of the 18-year-old midfielder but a swoop now appears to be off the cards.

Nydam is now under contract at Portman Road until 2021 and he said: “I’m absolutely buzzing.

“I’ve been at the club since I was nine years old and this extension is great for me and shows the hard work has paid off.”

Messi makes demand

12.30: Lionel Messi is demanding a stunning clause be put into his new Barcelona contract.

Messi has still yet to sign the new deal that was supposed to be agreed during the summer.

His current contract runs out next summer and he has been linked with a stunning move to Manchester City.

And this week he’s claimed he wants to play for boy-hood club Newell’s Old Boys in Argentina before he hangs up his boots.

And Diario Gol claim he wants the freedom to leave Barcelona whenever he chooses - and wants it written into his deal before he pens what would essentially be a rolling contract.

Havertz to Liverpool

11.00: Bayer Leverkusen  midfielder Kai Havertz reportedly made a visit to Liverpool’s training ground last month ahead of a potential transfer.

Website Football Whispers claim the Reds invited Havertz to their Melwood training facility in October.

The 18-year-old is said to have been given the red-carpet treatment and met with Klopp, Philippe Coutinho and club legend Steven Gerrard.

Havertz signed a new five-year deal with Leverkusen over the summer but it said to have been agreed merely to boost his return when sold.

The Bundesliga side are said to have granted the teenager permission to meet with Liverpool and appear open to doing business.

Mane on Keita

10.02: Sadio Mane has revealed how he convinced Naby Keita to join Liverpool.

Keita was Jurgen Klopp’s top midfield target last summer and he tried to land the RB Leipzig star.

In the end Liverpool had to make do with agreeing a deal for next summer due to his buyout clause.

And Mane, a former team-mate of Keita while at Red Bull Salzburg, admits the pair spoke about Liverpool.

“He is a really special player and is like family to me,” Liverpool ace Mane told Goal.com.

“We were close at Salzburg and still keep in touch. I enjoy watching him and look forward to helping him again when he comes next year.

“He asked me about Liverpool and I told him this is an amazing club with talented players, a great manager and lots of ambition.

“The city and the people are really nice and he will feel at home here.”

Neymar to Madrid?

09.30: Neymar would have to give up his sister’s birthdays if he signed for Real Madrid.

That was Sergio Ramos’ joke when asked about the potential transfer of the Brazil star.

Neymar joined PSG in the summer for a world record £200m deal from Barcelona.

But things are already looking sour with claims he only wants to play Champions League games and is unmotivated by Unai Emery’s tactics.

And a move to Real Madrid at some point is now looking possible - with the club’s captain even discussing it and suggesting it would be a good move.

But Ramos joked he would need to give up his regular trips to Brazil around his sister’s birthday - where he would generally have picked up a conspicuous injury.

"I like to play with the best and Neymar is one of them, I hope," Ramos said on Cadena SER when discussing a move for Neymar.

"What we would have to negotiate is his sister's birthday [laughs]."

Shaw loan deal

09.05: Luke Shaw could leave Manchester United on loan in January as Jose Mourinho looks to trim his squad.

Mourinho wants to bring more players in but has been told to sell before he buys to balance the book - and the size of his squad.

Mourinho has already used 25 players this season and Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcos Rojo are nearing fitness and could come into contention before Christmas.

And he wants to sign Danny Rose and Antoine Griezmann over the next 12 months.

But another left back would take his options to six for that position with Shaw and Rojo joined by Daley Blind, Matteo Darmian and Ashley Young.

And Shaw is the one who has the biggest sale value, but the Manchester Evening News claim he could leave in January on loan.

Sanchez needs to go

07.15: Tony Adams has told Alexis Sanchez to leave Arsenal.

Sanchez is out of contract in the summer and expected to quit the club.

He wanted to join Manchester City in the summer but the move was blocked when Arsenal couldn’t agree the deal for Thomas Lemar to replace him.

But Adam thinks Arsenal need to move on.

“We used to have a philosophy at Arsenal: if you don’t want to be at the club then bye-bye, we shake your hand get people that do, whatever money,” he said.

“I’ve always loved those principles, so if he doesn’t want to be here then try and get the most you can for him and get him on and get someone that does want to play for the club.”

PSG want Conte

05:30: Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly ready to try and lure Antonio Conte away from Chelsea next summer.

Jose Mourinho has been heavily linked with a move to the French capital in recent months, sparked by his comments in September stating he doesn’t see himself retiring at Old Trafford.

But the Ligue 1 giants are said to be interested in another Premier League boss to replace Unai Emery at the end of the season.

According to French publication Le Parisian, PSG want Conte to replace Emery.

The former Sevilla boss’ contract expires in 2018 but that will be extended by one more year if he manages to reach the Champions League semi-finals this campaign.

However, PSG have reportedly already made contact with Conte’s representatives should Emery fail to reach his target.

Dries Mertens open to Man Utd move

04:00: Manchester United target Dries Mertens has admitted that he would consider a move to England.

Napoli sporting director Pierpaolo Marinov claimed the Red Devils were following Mertens “very closely” in the summer.

And the Italian has now left the door ajar for a move to Old Trafford.

“I’m happy in Italy and I’m fine at Napoli,” Mertens said.

“But maybe in the future I could come to England.”

David Luiz wants Barcelona move

02:00: David Luiz will reportedly force through a move to Barcelona next summer after being left in the cold by Antonio Conte against Manchester United.

The Brazil international was unceremoniously dropped from the Chelsea line-up for their crucial Premier League match againt Jose Mourinho's side at the weekend.

Conte's tactics paid off with Chelsea clinching a 1-0 win but his decision hasn't sat well with Luiz.

Diario Gol claim the 30-year-old wants to leave Chelsea and has already offered himself to Barcelona who are said to be in the market for a central defender.

United directors fear Mourinho exit

21:44: Manchester United chiefs are reportedly deeply concerned Jose Mourinho will quit Old Trafford for Paris Saint-Germain next summer.

The Portuguese gaffer has openly flirted with the Ligue 1 giants in the recent past.

And they could be in the market for a new manager if they get rid of Unai Emery, who's under immense pressure to succeed.

The Sun claim Mourinho believes his United side will never be able to compete with Pep Guardiola's all-conquering Manchester City.

And directors fear that could be the trigger the ex-Chelsea gaffer uses to propel himself away from Manchester and to the Parc de Princes.

Deschamps backs Mourinho move

21:11: France boss Didier Deschamps believes Jose Mourinho would suit managing in France.

The Manchester United boss has been linked with a move to PSG in recent weeks and Deschamps can see it happening in the future.

“PSG is the most stand-out team in France, they are doing well nationally and in the Champions League,” he said.

“He (Mourinho) is pretty happy at Man United at the moment - but why not? He’s a bit of a globe-trotter and he hasn’t been to France yet.”

Georgiou extends Spurs contract

19:04: Midfielder Anthony Georgiou has signed a new contract with Tottenham until 2020.

The 20-year-old featured on the pre-season tour of the United States this summer before making his senior competitive debut in the Champions League against APOEL earlier this season.

He has been a regular for the club’s Development Squad in recent seasons and has made four starts for the U23s this season.

Goretzka boost

17:30: Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham target Leon Goretzka is heading to the Premier League.

That’s according to general manager of the Germany senior team, Oliver Bierhoff.

Goretzka, 22, is one of Germany’s brightest talents and is currently enjoying another stellar season with Bundesliga side Schalke.

But it might be his last after revealing comments from Bierhoff, who suggested the midfielder will join Leroy Sane in the Premier League.

"We feel that England, because of the amount of money you have with TV rights, young talented players like Leroy Sane and Leon Goretzka are moving to England and this is not good for our league but also for the quality of our game.

"We have to pay attention and invest again and again in the education of our coaches.”

ZZ is tops with Hazard

17:00: Chelsea playmaker Eden Hazard has reignited speculation of a future move to Real Madrid by again talking of his admiration for Zinedine Zidane.

The 26-year-old is under contract at Chelsea until 2020 and has been rumoured to be in negotiations to extend the deal he signed in February 2015.

Hazard, who joined Chelsea from Lille in June 2012, has been continually linked with Real in recent seasons, mainly due to his long-term respect for Zidane, the head coach of the Madrid side.

"Zinedine Zidane would be a dream to have as a coach," Hazard told RTL in his native Belgium.

"He was my idol when I was little, I have a lot of respect for him. Of course I don't know what will happen in my career in the future, but to play under him would be a dream.

"At this time, though, I'm happy at Chelsea. I still have a lot of things to do at Chelsea, and I'm focused on Chelsea."

Mikel’s Fergie snub

16:31: John Obi MIkel has lifted the lid on the “surreal” transfer saga which saw Manchester United and Chelsea battle for his signature back in 2005.

The Red Devils announced they had reached an agreement with Norwegian side Lyn for the then 18-year-old midfielder but a move fell through and he joined Chesea.

“It was surreal,” Mikel told The Sun.

“I was at school, but had Chelsea and Manchester United, two of the world’s biggest clubs trying to sign me.

“I’ll never forget that second meeting with Sir Alex. I’d signed a deal at United but had to tell him: ‘Sorry, I want to play for Chelsea.’”

Neymar back to Barca

13:32: Neymar sounded out a return to Barcelona when he visited his former team-mates last month, claim reports in Spain.

Neymar went back to Barca to meet his former team-mates and was snapped in discussion with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.

The PSG forward is said to have cheekily asked Messi “would you accept me back?”

And Spanish newspaper SPORT claim there was genuine sincerity behind the question, even though the likelihood of a return is slim indeed.

Embalo joins Man Utd

12.30: Manchester United have agreed a deal with Benfica for wonderkid Umaro Embalo, according to reports in Portugal.

The Red Devils attempted to sign the 16-year-old in the summer for £4million and Portuguese newspaper Record claim the deal is now over the line.

The report says Jose Mourinho and super-agent Jorge Mendes have played a big role in getting him to Old Trafford.

And he will slot into the Red Devils’ youth ranks after impressing in Benfica’s academy this term, scoring five times in 12 appearances.

Chelsea target Benteke and Boakye

10.30: Chelsea are targeting strikers Christian Benteke and Richmond Boakye in the January transfer window, according to reports.

The Telegraph claim Antonio Conte is not convinced by Michy Batshuayi and could loan him out in January.

And Benteke, who is close friends with Eden Hazard and proven in the Premier League, is on Conte’s wishlist.

Red Star Belgrade forward Boakye is also on the Blues boss’ radar.

Real Madrid link to Neymar

09:35: Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos wants his club to sign Neymar.

"I like to have the best and it's clear Neymar is one of them,” Ramos told Cadena Ser.

"Maybe it was easier for him to go to PSG, instead of directly to Real Madrid.

"They are personal decisions, you never know what can happen because football goes around a lot.

"I already have the door open for him if he wants to come. I also have a good relationship with him."

Barcelona are reportedly preparing a bumper January offer for Coutinho.

Kane to Real Madrid

09:09: Harry Kane is Real Madrid’s top target as they look to offload Karim Benzema.

Don Balon in Spain claim Real are working hard on a deal for the Tottenham forward.

Benzema could supposedly be let go at the end of the season.

And Kane, 24, is the man president Florentino Perez wants to come in alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale.

Leeds bid rejected

08:25: Leeds United have offered £180,000 plus add-ons (€200,000) for Kamil Jozwiak - but Lech Poznan are reluctant to lose him before his contract expires in the summer.

Poznan have rejected the proposal as Leeds look to sign 19-year-old Jozwiak in the January transfer window.

Poznan president Karol Klimczak said: “I can confirm that we got this offer (from Leeds), but I firmly believe that we are not interested in parting with Kamil in the winter.”

Chelsea and Man Utd target Pellegrini

08.05: Manchester United and Chelsea are both showing interest in Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini, according to reports in Italy.

Pellegrini has been a standout player for Roma this season, settling quickly at the Stadio Olimpico following his summer move from Sassuolo.

And Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb claim United, Chelsea and French giants Paris Saint-Germain are all keeping tabs on him.

The Premier League duo have reportedly been encouraged by Pellegrini’s affordable £22million release clause.

Real Madrid transfer chase

07:15: Real Madrid want to sign Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.

AS claim Real are continuing their search for a new shot-stopper.

David De Gea and Thibaut Courtois are on their radar but the dup are tied down to big contracts at Premier League sides Manchester United and Chelsea respectively.

Arrizabalaga, 23, would be a cheap option for Real and the Spaniard is already being tipped to eventually replace De Gea as the nation’s No 1 goalkeeper in years to come.

Chelsea in double swoop for Barkley and Benteke

07.00: Antonio Conte is keen to bolster his squad with the additions of Everton’s Ross Barkley and Christian Benteke, of Crystal Palace, in January.

Barkley came close to joining the Blues in the summer but an injury delayed the move before the midfielder opted to stay at Goodison Park.

Conte reportedly feels he is weak in the striker’s position and reckons Benteke could be a perfect fix.

However, it is unclear if the Eagles will want to part with their star forward or face staring relegation straight in the face.

Barcelona back in for Coutinho

06.30: Barcelona are preparing to heat up the chase for Phillipe Coutinho once more with a bumper January offer.

The back page of Spanish publication Sport claims that Ernesto Valverde’s side are lining up a mega £120million move for the playmaker.

Coutinho is apparently growing increasingly frustrated with manager Jurgen Klopp after he was not allowed to leave for the Nou Camp in the summer.

And the La Liga outfit are hopeful of completing the deal when the transfer window reopens.

Arsenal want £30million for Ozil

06.00: Arsenal have reportedly slapped a £30million price tag on German playmaker Mesut Ozil.

The 29-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season.

However, Arsene Wenger is believed to want to cash in on his star midfielder in the winter window.

Rumours coming out of Ozil’s camp are that Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United are interested in taking him to Old Trafford.

But it is unclear if United will match the valuation put up by the Gunners.

Mikel preferred Mourinho over Ferguson

05.30: John Obi Mikel has opened up about how why he chose to sign for Chelsea rather than Manchester United in 2015.

The Nigerian had an agreement to move to Old Trafford but pulled the plug at the final hour.

“I’d signed a deal at United but had to tell him: ‘Sorry, I want to play for Chelsea,” Mikel said.
