City worried over Sanchez - Burley

19.10: Manchester City are worried Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez will join either Manchester United or Chelsea, says Craig Burley.

City came close to signing Sanchez in the summer, but when discussing his future, Burley suggested Chelsea and United will also be keen on him.

“There’s another couple of clubs that could satisfy his wage demands,” Burley said.

“That would be across London to Chelsea or up north to Manchester United.

“Maybe City are worried about him going to one of those clubs as well.”

Morata: I never wanted to leave Real Madrid

17:15: Chelsea star Alvaro Morata admits he would welcome a return to Real Madrid.

The Spaniard ended his four-year spell with Los Blancos in the summer, signing for Chelsea in a deal that could rise to £70m.

Morata fell out of favour under Zinedine Zidane last season with the Frenchman opting to start Karim Benzema instead.

Widespread reports suggested the 25-year-old was pushing for a move to the Premier League  but it turns out he was forced to leave because of a lack of playing time, particularly in the Champions League.

"Of course I would return to Real Madrid, but it's complicated," Morata told Spanish radio station Cadena Ser's main football programme El Larguero.

"I told the coach I wanted to play more. That I wanted to go is foolishness. I felt important for Madrid, but I wanted to play in the Champions League knockout stages.

"I've never said a bad word of Madrid nor will I say it. Always I wish them the best. I'm a fan of Madrid but a Chelsea player."

Vidal chase

17:00: Bayern Munich are prepared to listen to offers for Arturo Vidal, according to reports.

German publication Kicker claim Bayern are disappointed with Vidal’s recent performances, and aren’t sure whether he can return to his best.

The 30-year-old’s contract expires in June 2019, and the Bundesliga outfit are worried about their £50million-rated midfielder leaving for free.

Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal have all been linked with Vidal in the past while Chilean reports claim Antonio Conte spoke with him earlier this summer.

Morata surprised Zola

16.30: Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola has been surprised by the consistency shown by Alvaro Morata so far this season.

Zola knows Morata well having watched him during his two years in Italy with Juventus.

But he admits he did not expect him to be putting it together week in, week out like he is doing.

“I knew already he had very good qualities but what is surprising me, something I didn’t know he had, is the consistency he’s having so far," Zola told ESPN.

“I’ve always said he is a very good player, talented, with his feet one of the most skilled football players in his position in the world.”

Bakayoko picks up injury

15:30: Tiemoue Bakayoko has picked up an injury in Chelsea training.

The Sun say the France international limped out of today's session in a major blow for Antonio Conte.

Loftus-Cheek can match Alli - Wilkins

14.20: Chelsea academy graduate Ruben Loftus-Cheek can be as good as Tottenham star Dele Alli, says Ray Wilkins.

Wilkins believes despite having less league experience than fellow 21-year-old Alli, Loftus-Cheek can go on to match his achievements.

“Dele has played around 200 games now and he’s only 21,” he told talkSPORT.

“I honestly do believe Loftus-Cheek has the ability to be equally as good as him, no question about it.”

Fabregas misses Barca

12.45: Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has revealed he is happy in London but still misses his family and friends in Barcelona.

“Here I have found absolute happiness,” the Spain international said.

“The family is delighted, totally adapted to life here and the fans love me. I'm too happy to change.

“From Barcelona I only miss my family and my friends.”

Morata on Real return

11.15: Alvaro Morata has admitted he would return to Real Madrid once his time is up at Chelsea.

When asked if he would consider moving back to the Bernabeu, he told Cadena SER: "Of course I would go back [to Real Madrid].

“After winning everything with Chelsea and making a great career here... well, why not?

"It's very difficult to say 'no' to Real Madrid for a Real Madrid fan like me. But I don't believe it can happen, honestly, but who knows.”

Drinkwater rejects England

07.10: Danny Drinkwater rejected an England call up this, Gareth Southgate revealed yesterday.

Southgate has seen a raft of pull-outs for his England squad for tonight’s game with Germany and Brazil next week.

And Southgate sounded Drinkwater out over a call up but was told he wasn’t ready having only just returned to fitness.

“He felt he wasn’t ready yet to play this level,” Southgate said. “We had a bit of this conversation last week – I wanted to find out where he felt he was.

“If Danny didn’t feel he was ready, I can understand given the amount of minutes he’s had and didn’t play at the end of the season with Leicester either.

“But we might have other players back by the next internationals in March. I can’t hypothesise over who I might be calling in.”

“City are the best Premier League team and Kevin is an important player in Guardiola’s system.

“It’s easy to play with Kevin because we’re good players.”

David Luiz wants Barcelona move

04:30: David Luiz will reportedly force through a move to Barcelona next summer after being left in the cold by Antonio Conte against Manchester United.

The Brazil international was unceremoniously dropped from the Chelsea line-up for their crucial Premier League match againt Jose Mourinho's side at the weekend.

Conte's tactics paid off with Chelsea clinching a 1-0 win but his decision hasn't sat well with Luiz.

Diario Gol claim the 30-year-old wants to leave Chelsea and has already offered himself to Barcelona who are said to be in the market for a central defender.

Morata reveals strange habit

02:00: Alvaro Morata has revealed his routine after Chelsea win a Stamford Bridge.

The Spanish striker has explained how he walks home from the ground and stops for a beer on the way.

Morata told Spanish radio broadcaster SER Network: “I live in Chelsea five minutes away from the stadium and sometimes at the end of the match, if the roads are closed, I take my training gear off and walk home.

“If we win I give myself the reward of having a beer.

"I change my clothes, I take off Chelsea's because if it's not impossible, I put on a hat and go home."

Luiz on Madrid’s radar

20:08: Real Madrid are one of several clubs keen to take Chelsea defender David Luiz on loan in January.

According to the Gambling Times, sources close to the club believe the 30-year-old could be allowed to leave in January.

They state Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, AC Milan and Inter Milan are all interested in loan moves and have made their feelings known to the Blues.

For now, Conte remains keen to keep the Brazilian in his plans for the second half of the season but it is unclear if Luiz would want out should he continue to be dropped.

Frank Lampard not against being Michael Emenalo's replacement

18:10: Former Stamford Bridge legend Frank Lampard is one of the names being lined-up as a replacement for Michael Emenalo, and he has said he is not against taking up the post.

Technical director Emenalo left the club after ten years last week and Lampard has been mentioned as a possible successor.

And the ex-England man has stated his desire to return to the Blues as part of the backroom staff.

"I'm a Chelsea person, I'd love to be involved with the club long-term in some way. We'll see," he said.

Working with Zidane would be a dream - Hazard

17:00: Eden Hazard has thrown his Chelsea future into doubt.

The Blues forward has frequently been linked with a move to the European and La Liga champions in the past.

And he’s added fuel to the fire after admitting it would be a "dream" to play under Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane.

"Everyone knows the respect I have for Zidane as a player, but also as a manager. He was my idol,” Hazard told Belgian TV channel RTL.

"I do not know what will happen in my career in the future. However, for sure, to play under Zinedine Zidane would be a dream.

"I am enjoying life at Chelsea. I still have a lot of things to achieve with them. I am focused on playing for Chelsea.

"Of course [I would enjoy working with Mourinho again]. I like facing him also as an opponent. If we were to work together in the future it would be with pleasure."

Frank Lampard photobomb

16:55: Frank Lampard gave a few lucky Chelsea supporters a day they would never forget.

The Stamford Bridge legend touched down in Tokyo for a promotional event in his role as club ambassador.

And it didn’t take him long to make an impression after popping up in the background of some unsuspecting fans’ photos!

"Japan is home to some of the most passionate and loyal football supporters in the world. I love every chance I get to visit the country and experience its fantastic culture," said Lampard.

£500m investor deal!

16:50: Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is seeking a £500million cash injection from Far East investors to fund the Blues’ new stadium.

It has emerged Russian billionaire Abramovich is not interested in selling any of his stake in Chelsea, but the oligarch is keen to bring in investors to help fund Chelsea’s stadium project.

Chelsea have planning permission to expand their Stamford Bridge home but supposedly need help funding the project.

The Sun claim Abramovich has held talks with Far East investors over how they can help pump money into the club.

It’s also claimed that the businessmen involved are willing to spend half a billion pounds ‘to be part of the London club’s future at their new home’.
